I quite fancy some cropped jeans, I think they might look funky and will go with lots of other things on my wardrobe
BUT am a size 12/14
will I look ludicrous?

I hope not! I'm a 12/14 and have been wearing them for 3 years!

paddingtonbear1 · 18/04/2007 14:01

I never used to wear them as I'm only 5ft and they just make my legs look shorter. I have got 1 pair I love though, wore them all last summer and to hell with it! My friend said how nice they were and requested I buy her a pair!

oliveoil · 18/04/2007 14:02

short versions as in knee, yes

I don't like ones cropped near the ankle, no

oliveoil · 18/04/2007 14:03

like this

Y0rkshirelass · 18/04/2007 14:03

Yes, but I do think different lengths of cropped jeans suit different sizes (and leg lengths!).

Y0rkshirelass · 18/04/2007 14:04

Yes get some, not yes you will look ludicrous btw!

princesscc · 18/04/2007 14:07

I always struggle with the length thing. I'm 5ft 8in, so most of them are nearer the knee than the ankle. I think they look lovely with a nice smocky style top and a new pair of strappy sandles.

harpsichordcarrier · 18/04/2007 19:06

gosh, could i get away with shorts like that? god they look great

I like those shorts (and I never wear shorts) but £55! Can someone find me a cheap pair?

JackieNo · 18/04/2007 19:12

Can you bear to look on Boden, HC? They've got quite a few pairs of cropped trousers/long shorts in the catalogue that came through today.

DrMarthaMcMoo · 18/04/2007 19:14

Found these at Top Shop, which are a bit cheaper.

DrMarthaMcMoo · 18/04/2007 19:15

harpsichordcarrier · 18/04/2007 19:15

coincidentally my Boden catalgue arrived today too oh yes I am Boden material and I know it.maybe we should go shopping JAckie

We should definitely have a shopping trip, Harpsi - would be fun.

KnayedFrot · 18/04/2007 19:39

Well if you do, I do.

I've got 4 pairs, one pair from last year, and one pair I've had about 5 years, and two new this year.

One pair from Next, quite skinny cut, and one pair from Hobbs, more of a loose cut.

DrMarthaMcMoo · 24/04/2007 12:24

For those who can't justify spending £55 on a pair of these - I bought a pair in New Look this morning - for the bargain price of £9 (they've got a silver belt which I don't like but I can ditch that).

KathyMCMLXXII · 24/04/2007 12:29

You need the right shape legs, too. I have fat calves so no way.
