Cashmere jumper/top

Hi,

I have been looking to get a cashmere jumper/top, and was wondering how well they wash? And which is the best place to get one? The cheaper in price the better for me.

I've found it really frustrating as they're beautiful jumpers for about a month, and I really wanted a pair of their bottoms too but there's no way I'd buy them now.

I find Pure cashmere itchy and not great quality

Brora on eBay is what I’d recommend, best quality cashmere I’ve found, super super soft

Boden also good

Damn this thread Grin I've just spent £200 on some more Jaeger cashmere.

I've found Allsaints and Toast to be good. I don't dare machine wash, but wash by hand, wrap and squeeze in a towel until nearly dry, then air off flat.

I love cashmere. I think of it as medical for my SAD.

I have one from Wyse and it bobbled really badly as well. I think it's not good quality or made of short cashmere fibres, which are the ones that tend to bobble.

I have had various cashmeres. Marks and spencers cardigan that is machine washable and has definitely felted. Very annoyed about it. I still wear it but its not the same. Not impressed by F&F cashmere. Very thin. I have 3 hush cashmere jumpers - all beautiful. I hand wash in non-rinse cashmere liquid soap. I debobble - hush give away a cashmere comb. The cashmere is a perfect weight - not too thin/thick. The downside is that they are £££ and the colours aren't brilliant this year. I have the charcoal, camel and hibiscus from previous seasons.

Oh and I have a few Next cashmere things - a couple of cardigans and a jumper - all lovely quality.

I love jaeger cashmere and pure not too bad, but find M n S is not the same as older pieces I’ve had
Due to losing weight I’ve sold a lot on eBay recently, and buy more mainly second hand or tkmaxx

My favourite reasonably priced brands are Pure and John Lewis. M&S is fine but thinner. All wash well on delicates at 30
