Can someone help me buy a sports bra online?

I need a sports bra. Can anyone recommend me a good one and what the sizing is like in it? I’m a 28F in a Freya Idol. It’s for not very fast running. Also can I get advice on sizing - do I need the same size etc.

Thanks.

Panache do a wired and non wired version, you'll be very slightly flattened in the non wired version and would probably need the same size as your Idol.
Shock Absorbers are so tight that you'd need a 30E or F...

I ordered a few from boobydoo.co.uk in different sizes and used free return for the ones that didn’t fit.

I have a Freya Active Epic UW Crop Top Sports Bra from wiggle. They have them for £20 at the mo which is a great price. I've run 10km in it and regularly run 5km. It's really supportive. I started at a 34gg and am now a 32G and am on my 4th one. Hence the £20 price being great!

Actually my first was a 34H

Jumping on board. Hope you don't mind OP

I struggle to get them on, so bought this from M&S. They don't seem to do your size, but worth looking at the front fastening ones if you are flexibly-challenged as I appear to be...

I bought mine (32E) from bravissimo but I can’t remember the brand. It’s very sturdy.

Not at all whothefuck Smile

Thanks everyone. I'm the worst online shopper - I have so many times forgotten returns. I've seen both the Panache
and the shock absorber ones and am somewhat dizzy from reading the reviews and trying to best guess what size to take. So thanks for the advice. I've a shoulder injury atm (going on a year dagnammit) and I was a bit worried about wriggling into a shock absorber. I might go with the under wired Panache.

Had a look at boobydoo. Thanks. Some brands there I've never come across before.

Katz, do you take your regular size in that Freya bra?

Florene · 19/11/2017 23:18

I also have a shoulder injury, which is why I can't recommend the front fastening ones highly enough!!

Ididnthearanything · 19/11/2017 23:23

Thanks Florene, but M&S aren't great for me, they rarely make 28 backs and if they do, it's usually 28A/B/C. I don't think I'm very petite (5'6", size 10 or 12) and I'm not massively booby but M&S rarely, if ever, have anything in my size.

Ididnt - I don’t have any other Freya bras and due to loosing weigh the only new bras I’ve bought so far have been my sports one and my everyday bras aren’t the right size. my dd does have Freya and I’m sure hers are the same size will ask her tomorrow. I think from reviews others have said the cups come up a little big. Not sure what wiggles return policy is.

The band size is spot on.

I have tried millions recently so I feel your pain! I used to have a maximum strength shock absorber in which nothing moved, but the new ultimate shock absorber is useless. I've tried brooks, asics, shock absorber and the best i have found is a freya sonic moulded underwired sports bra, I'm normally a 34d but dropped a back size and up a cup to 32dd, pretty much nothing moves! And it's fairly comfortable.

mando12345 · 19/11/2017 23:34

This is the freya bra I ended up with www.johnlewis.com/freya-sports-underwired-moulded-crop-top-bra-hot-crimson/p1249076#tabinfo-rating, although it doesn't give it is full name which is on the packaging.

Ididnthearanything · 20/11/2017 10:26

I see that Freya one doesn't go down to a 28. I wonder would a 30 be too big. I like the look of it. My Freya Idol 28 back is a good fit.

I'm still leaning towards the Panache underwired one, But still haven't hit 'buy'. I'm a fast mover...Hmm

Sports bras do often come up smaller in the back if that helps!

KatharinaRosalie · 20/11/2017 15:40

I would recommend the Shock Absorber Run for you- don't think it comes in 28 back, but it's very tight. I wear 30 back in Freya bras but need 32, borderline 34 in that.

Freya Active Moulded or Panache are also very good for holding everything in place, but they are more bulky. Fit standard, so you would need 28 back IMO.

mando12345 · 20/11/2017 16:02

Sorry I didn't spot that freya bra doesn't go down to 28, as I said I had to go down a band size so doubt it would be any good for you. The ultimate run shock absorber comes up tiny band size, I needed a 36c but annoyingly there was a lot of breast movement! But it may suit you.

Katz · 20/11/2017 16:12

My dd has this one in a 30H and says it comfy and supportive it goes down to a 28 back

This is the one I have

I really like the Panache sports bra, but the best thing is calling or messaging the lady at Boobydoo as she is fantastic at telling you which run small/large in band/cup, which you will like if you like a certain normal bra, and which if you prefer monoboob (compression type) or a more normal look (encapsulation)

vaz119 · 20/11/2017 17:54

I have the underwired Freya sports bra that mando linked. I'm a 30 back in all my fantasie and Freya bras but had to go upto a 32 back in this and it's still in the loosest fastening.
