My m&s down jacket is about ten years old and getting tatty. I'm going to Germany next week and need something warm to wear. I can get to a retail park this afternoon. Any ideas? Preferably mid thigh length, size 16, with hood, grey or black. Must be warm.

TIA

No one?

I've been to m&s because I've 20% off with my sparks card but they were all either too short in the sleeve or body or not warm enough. Looked in Trespass but they were not very stylish or too stiff.

They have some lovely warm coats in Zara but I’m not sure whether the sizing would work for you? Otherwise I would say Gap are good for warm coats?

Justchillaxing · 17/11/2017 22:28

No Zara nearby. I've been to gap outlet today but they'd no warm coats Sad

GrumpetLikesCrumpets · 17/11/2017 22:34

Fatface have some decent coats

Justchillaxing · 17/11/2017 22:34

There's no decathlon nearby either Sad

There's m&s, Next, Outfit, River Island, Debenhams, New Look, Tesco, George, H&M, Top Shop ...

Monsoon, I got a navy thigh length padded coat with a fur trimmed hood, really warm.

Titsywoo · 18/11/2017 00:48

I got this from Dorothy perkins. I'm also a size 16 and it's really flattering. I tried some more expensive one in a similar style from Joules and Fat Face but this is much nicer and is lovely and warm.

Thanks. I don't really want blue or belted - I've no waist. I looked on the Debenhams website tho and they've some nice jackets so I'll go there tomorrow.

Try Landsend - i know it's online but should arrive on time. Arctic expedition parka is fab, otherwise possibly Joules or Barbour.

LIZS · 18/11/2017 07:36

Got one in DP earlier this year for a similar trip which is surprisingly warm, synthetic down style. Sport Direct may have some or Decathlon.

Elledorado · 18/11/2017 07:53

Warehouse have some surprisingly flattering, warm padded coats

PNGirl · 18/11/2017 08:51

I like this!

Debenhams

toriah · 18/11/2017 09:06

Regatta has some lovely warm, insulated and waterproof ones, just bought one

Littlepumpkinpie · 18/11/2017 09:13

Try Fat face they are no longer selling down coats though if that what you wanted.

woollychimp · 18/11/2017 09:19

I got my last coat from TKMaxx - worth losing in there if you have one.

QuestionableMouse · 18/11/2017 09:21

Morrisons have a lovely muted green parka. It's really warm.

TossDaily · 18/11/2017 09:28

I got a lovely one from Barbour last week.

£££ but I know I'll wear it for years. I tried tons on and this was the only one that didn't make me look and feel like an animated postbox.

Next sell packable down jackets which aren’t too puffy and are very warm?

Justchillaxing · 19/11/2017 01:02

Thanks everyone. I bought a grey padded parka from Dorothy Perkins in Debenhams this afternoon - and they had 20% off Smile

Joules Stormont?

BluebellGal · 19/11/2017 21:06

Thanks to this thread I purchased the navy, belted padded Parker from Dorothy Perkins today £65 with fur hood. It’s super warm and smart enough for work when very cold

Justchillaxing · 19/11/2017 23:44

Bluebell I saw that one too but decided on the grey non belted one instead, purely because i wanted grey or black, it was nice though.
