Are Gap in trouble?

Every day I get an email from Gap offering me 20/30/40% off. Are they in trouble and desperate for custom? I rarely buy for me, as their sizing doesn't always work.

Ditto Dorothy Perkins actually. I've not bought anything from there for a while. All my nearest shops of theirs have shut down.

H and M are the second largest clothes retailer in the world - just behind Zara. They have increased turnover but have had to discount heavily. Like many retailers, maintaining a high street presence will be a challenge.

We found their SAN Francisco store to be the total opposite of the rummage sale approach here. There were even helpful assistants! I am surprised they don’t have the same standards worldwide. I just dislike disorganised stores.
