Kate Moss for topshop - vile clothes, why the hype!?

I saw a preview of this collection on saturday and was shocked at how horrible the clothes are.
The worst is a tight black dress with big cut out details around the chest (did she consult her local yates wine bar for inspiration!?)
Why are people so excited about this. she may be stylish but thats only because she looks good (or is purported to look good) in anything, as she's a frickin supermodel.
I hope none of you will be camping on oxford street come the release, lol.

she lives in the same pair of jeans week in week out imo

she always has these skinny grey things on in every picture

she doesnt even look like she has washed her hair too recently

babyonboard · 16/04/2007 15:04

Oh there's a pair of vile skinny grey jeans in her 'collection' too, hehehe

'why are people so excited about this?'
It's called emporer's new clothes syndrome. I totally agree - the clothes are yuk. It's another example of media hype. The ST mag did an interview with KM the other week in the wake of her launching this collection (of shite) and the interviewer was practically coming in her pants everytime the silly little bint spoke. honestly

any chance i could have a peek?

ZZMum · 16/04/2007 15:05

yes I saw some in the paper and thought they were so chavvy/style-less as to be no better than matalan type crap designed by a no mark... read that it got the thumbs down in US as well... and now she is distancing herself from the design saying she did not do the actual design but her lifestyle influenced the designs...

nailpolish · 16/04/2007 15:07

its like the madonna stuff for H&M

tracksuits - oh purleeeease

nailpolish · 16/04/2007 15:08

babyonboard · 16/04/2007 15:08

She 'allegedly' just took a load of her own clothes into topshop hq and said those were her 'designs'

I really can't see the attraction of Kate moss.
I thnk she has a look of bad stock to her.

nailpolish · 16/04/2007 15:09

her boyfriend makes me heave

babyonboard · 16/04/2007 15:13

She looks like any pretty girl you see around.
Just knows how to pout well and promote herself.
It's sick though that she can use a coke habit to further her career. Damn blasted media.

Some of the collection was in the style section of the Saturday Guardian Weekend section. I thought it was an interesting combination of vile, unwearable and chav. I won't be heading to Topshop.

becklespeckle · 16/04/2007 15:19

how is Kate Moss pretty? Never seen the attraction myself - she looks nice when she is covered in make-up but then, don't we all? Haven't seen her 'collection' but don't think much to her style anyway.

They are not aimed at me - they are aimed at 16-24 year olds who will probably look very lovely in some of the (v short) dresses in the mag I saw.

I do think it's hilarious that magazines like Vogue are excited about it - Heat mag I can understand.
