Please, please, please, HELP ME FIND A DRESS!!!

I'm desperate for a dress that will serve for at least two occasions.

1. Dp's birthday next weekend when we will probably go out in town for a meal and drinks with friends.

2. Dd's 1st birthday party on the coming May Bank Holiday weekend. This will be family and friends at our house in the afternoon and evening.

Ideally I'd like one dress that can be smarted up for the meal out and will still be comfy enough for the day time part of dd's party.

I'm 28, size 8 with a slightly bigger bum than boobs, 5 ft 5.

I've already tried M&S, Monsoon, Debenhams, Oasis, Warehouse and Topshop as well as looking online at Boden.

All help gratefully received !

Did you see the Boden 'Tea dress'? It's really flattering, I have one and I think it would be absolutely ideal for both occasions....though if you have looked online I guess you have and have discounted it for some reason....just wanted to say I think it is really flattering 'on'.

Otherwise have you tried Laura Ashley?

Lucycat, I like two on that link, the very top left one and the very bottom right. I've not ordered from them before, what is the sizing like?

I think that looks nice but the only pattern I like it in has a 5 week wait, the one the model is wearing in the photo.

Well their size S is an 8/10 so should be ok for you. They do free delivery although you have to pay to return stuff.

Keep bumping this though - there are Tansen fans out there!

If you have an asda nearby they have a fab jersey smock dress in black, green (The one i have!) or deep red. I wore this for my birthday outing with heels and jewelery but it's great too with ballet pumps and a cardi etc on family days out.

I got a spotty green, blue and white dress from asda that will look nice for dd's party and I have a delivery coming from asos.com that will hopefully have something suitable for dp's bday night out.
