Thrilled with the results. No real bruising now and just a very subtle difference in my lips. I think I’ve been lucky to find an experienced practitioner (albeit more expensive)..

Were the injections just on the edge of your lips then? not actually in any lines above? and IN your lips
Still a bit wary of having mine done, but yours looks lovely
There are so many different people here and its only a mall town,
There is a dentist that does it, maybe he might be better as they know more about facial nerves etc, maybe
Dredng it just because its so near Christmas really, dont want anything to go wrong, would be just my luck

I had lip lines done and then a small amount around the edge of my lips. It doesn’t look too obvious which is what I was hoping for. I went to a private clinic and the practitioner was a nurse.

lovemylover · 09/12/2017 14:39

Thank you, my lip lines are fairly deep, and I am much older than you,so have to be a bit careful, but even if it softens them I will be happy,i am very conscious of them
Arranged to go Tuesday if my daughter can take me as its not in town, and I don't drive

How old do you think I am? I don’t believe I said.. 45!! Hence the mid-life face change 😆

lovemylover · 10/12/2017 11:59

Lol, I am still much older than you, [will just say over 60 ]and some people might think at my age I shouldn't bother, but I hate these lip lines, as the rest of my face isn't bad wrinkle wise, and have good skin
I cant tell your age by just the lips, but I would have guessed maybe late 30sor even less, as very young girls are getting their lips done now

lovemylover - I had Restylane put into the lines on my upper lip (I think we are maybe the same age). You see the difference right away, and what a big difference it was for me. I was getting that 'drawstring purse' look. I've had it twice now, about 18 months between appointments, and the difference to my top lip is amazing. If I knew how to put before and after shots on here I would. I'll try, just to show you what a success it was.

lovemylover · 10/12/2017 19:36

Tighnabruaich I am hoping mine look ok when done, mine look just how you described yours, but I am a bit worried as I had it done about 2 years ago, and I think the lady was practising on me,i looked like Homer Simpson,,she knew it wasn't right because she put makeup on it straight away, she wasn't a practitioner and I couldn't get it dissolved until March,it was about this time of year and ruined my whole Christmas
I hope you can manage to get a pic on I would love to see your outcome
Also I had some quite big bruises,it was a mess, but I should have checked how long she had been doing this, not long as it turned out, and I think I must have been her guinea pig

Meant to ask ,did you have it in upper and lower lines [under bottom lip]?

OP posts:
Tighnabruaich · 10/12/2017 21:40

Just upper lip. No bruises at all. A bit stingy when the injection happened but that was all. The practitioner was a trained nurse attached to the clinic. My lines were quite deep, bleeding into the top lip, plus there was some 'cross-hatching' and I really wasn't happy at all. All I can say is that they were smoothed out by 100%, and the result lasted about 9 months. The second time I had it done I asked for a little fullness to be put into my top lip and that was successful too. I had the anaesthetic cream on for about 30 minutes before the procedure and she was slow and steady, sympathetic and informed me of what was happening all the way.

lovemylover · 10/12/2017 22:55

Thank you, I am going to ask her to put a bit in my top lip too, but ever since I had the last lot dissolved I have quite a lot under my lower lip too, hope you can manage to put a pic on, just click on browse and if you have the pics on your computer it should take you to your photos

Again ,meant to ask, how deep did she put the needle in? when I had mine done she put the needle really deep, I'm sure it shouldn't have gone in so deep,
Also she used juvaderm smile which is too thick for lip lines I was told afterwards

I can only speak for Restylane as that's the only product I've had. In some places it did feel quite deep, in others not so much. Are you going back to the same person - or do you think you might try and find someone else?

lovemylover · 11/12/2017 10:31

Oh no,wouldn't go back to her, going to a nurse my daughter goes to, have seen her before but bottled out, lol going Wednesday at 3-30
Not sure what she uses, but will ask about the restylane

Had mine done today, they are still there but softened the lines are still there, but less and I am happy with that for now, rather than as it turned out last time, with someone else, really put me off, for ages, also she did a small amount round the edge of my top lip, so next time she will put something a little stronger in now I am not so nervous
Cant get a close enough pic of my lips , but will try again later

justme93 · 13/12/2017 20:12

Pleased you happy with the results so far that's great news x

lovemylover · 13/12/2017 20:47

Still show a bit when I purse my lips, but still lots better
Next time I will be braver lol

OP posts:
lovemylover · 16/12/2017 19:28

The filler I had was called TEOSYAL, its new I think, would have preferred the Restylane but she said for a softer look to begin with this was better,as she knew I was nervous
I hope it looks a bit smoother in 2 weeks, but I l;ike what she has done with my top lip

Any contributors here care to update a few months on?

And how much did you pay, if you don't mind saying?

Pumkinfailure · 27/03/2018 21:37

Bumping this as I have awful smokers lines I really need sorting and would love recommendations and any before and after pics of people have them?
