If you shop in uniqlo, what do you buy or recommend?
I'm 5'7, size 12-14 with a classic style ...

I love Uniqlo. I have a few playsuits I wear for work with tights and a couple of jumpsuits and leggings. I find the opposite with the sizes though, I think they come up big.

If I’m a 12 in river island molly jeans, same in Tesco F&F, basically a 12...what size should I get

LoniceraJaponica · 22/10/2017 22:20

I like to try clothes on and see them in RL before I buy. I don't like buying clothes online because I would send most of them back.

ilovecherries · 22/10/2017 22:27

I like their trouser leggings and their down stuff. Also have a few cardigans. I'm a 14-16 and wear a L in bottoms and an XL in tops. I find their refunds very slow though. I don't find two weeks reasonable, and that is invariably what it takes.

Waxlyrically · 22/10/2017 22:27

Thanks for the advice - it doesn't sound like the packable ones will be warm enough or me. I like the look of the ultra warm fur hooded coat but I already have something similar and wanted a warm coat that wouldn't take up suitcase space. Given that there is a shop in New York I think it's a great idea to try a few things on there!

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 22/10/2017 22:36

When I went to NY and found that the wardrobe I’d packed was a bit under insulated for the time of year I did indeed dash into the huge Empire State Building Uniqlo and grab an extra layer. Probably your best bet - that way you’ll get the right size and weight and it’ll only take you fifteen minutes.

(Would recommend doing Empire State at opening time (8am) on your first day - you can use your jet lag to your advantage and get in while there are no queues at all).

Wtfdoicare · 22/10/2017 22:42

I absolutely love the legging trousers or trouser leggings! Also their supima cotton tops and all the fine knit merino (cardigans and sweaters) which are so thin yet very warm. I like their girls range for my DDs too, they did the best shorts for them this summer.

chloechloe · 23/10/2017 08:19

waxlyrically How about buying one of their down gilets and putting it under a warm winter coat? I'm planning on doing this after seeing the tip on the On The Spike website. The gilet won't take any room in your case and you take your coat on the plane.

PhatSlag · 23/10/2017 11:21

bitifabelly I’d get M.

dameofdilemma · 23/10/2017 11:24

I think the sizes in the blouses and dresses come up very big - the cuts are generous. Its a shame as I'd buy just about the lot if it fit properly.
Jumpers sizing is more true to size.

The coats are fantastic - I bought a great lightweight rainmac last year and just bought a lovely funnel neck long wool coat.

TSSDNCOP · 23/10/2017 11:25

I'm a hefty 16, and all their XL is roomy.

I've got the Breton tops in every colour
The jeggings
The raincoat
The Merino jumpers

bananafish81 · 23/10/2017 11:51

Currently today as many days I am wearing head to toe uniqlo to work

Grey easy care silk touch blouse
Heat tech base layer underneath
Black leggings trouser

I pretty much rotate the different colour blouses and leggings trousers (alternated with a pair of skinny jeans) most days of the week

MrsLogicFromViz · 23/10/2017 14:19

The XL defo fits me and I'm a 16/18. I sized up to an XXL for a flannel shirt and it was absolutely massive. The super stretch skinnies are also very generously cut and I wear a 32 and bought two 34s in the sale (for porkier days)
