new knickers

I am fed up wearing the same old baggy faded washed out knickers and telling myself that there is no point in buying new ones until I loose weight. So I am going to celebrate the weight I have lost and buy some now! So where is the best place to go for...ahem...everyday knickers ( as opposed to bedroom underwear ). Preferably online please?

I don't even know what is the best style for me - I am size 14 with lots of post baby flab and that horrid post C-section overhang

Could also do with some new nightwear but everything I see appears to be for teenagers ( babydolls with little miss naughty or teddies), pastel crimpelene nighties with lace or ...how shall I put it....nightwear for fun rather than for sleeping in. I have nothing against fun but like to be comfortable [middle aged emoticon]

can't beat good old M&S for pants imo.

no no please dont say that! I know I am middle aged but I HATE their website. Even the 6ft tall size 6 models look TERRIBLE in the photos

For nightwear, I like the look of the White Company stuff, though I haven't yet bought any from them.

I haven't had a c-section but flabby tummy here and I simply can't wear those short style ones because my wobbly bits hang over the front what a lovely thought that is! I find only "big pants" look okay on me but because they tend to be high at the back they stick out of my jeans waistband - not an attractive look at all. Sadly my g string days are over, arse-wise. So I'd love some suggestions too - sorry that's probably no help to you whatsobloodyever.

please dont tell me I have to wear these

Hey remember the craze for French Knickers - would have been about 1990 - I had some lovely satin ones, I thought they were quite sexy, smooth and silky but not too tight. Bring 'em back, I say and yah boo sucks to boy shorts!

KatieMorag · 08/04/2007 21:45

ok, yesireallycan - guess you and i are the only ones on mumsnet with flabby tums

I'm only 23 but for day to day I wear M&S bikini style ones. Everywhere else they tend to fall apart after a few washes. Can't be doing with massive knickers though as I'm a fan of hipster jeans!

KatieMorag · 08/04/2007 21:50

at the hipster jeans
