Nose piercing... yay or nay?

Just that really? What do you think of nose (nostril) piercings?
I've wanted my nose pierced (nostril, I'd only want a little stud) for a really long time, maybe 2 years or so, on and off, but I keep getting second thoughts Blush I'm 23, but I'm not really a cool 23, I live in joules and Barbour and wellies and I'm just not very exciting in general so I worry I'd look a bit... out of place with a nose piercing. even writing that I feel a bit daft Blush
Do you like them? Hate them? Are they a bit 90s? Shall I just do it and stop being such an over-thinky drama queen?

Mine was a little one, exactly the same style I buy and wear now.

The man who did it was so sweet, he had a tattooed head and the gentlest hands.

They heal over very quickly if you take them out. This is the third time I've had it done in the same nostril and no issues at all.

Google charlotte amor valentine.
She seems a square type and has one. I do think it looks a bit odd on her but quite sure she doesn't give a shit what I think.

I got mine done in Afflecks Palace in 1993. I haven't worn a stud in it for years but it's never healed. I've considered putting one back in.

I quite fancy a little diamond - what do you do about keeping it clean? Does your make up not get stuck in them?

LilaBard · 01/10/2017 20:01

Go for it! I am boring (like really boring), and my nose is huge and the least favourite part of my body. I decided to jazz it up with some piercings cos that's cheaper than surgery haha
I wear a little nose ring and also have my septum pierced. Totally changes your look and you can take it out if you don't like it.

If I had a small nose and smaller pores I would have mine done tomorrow. I love a nose piercing.

Ragusa · 01/10/2017 20:06

And I am really really boring.

I had mine pierced at 52. Looks terrific and most people just thought it has always been there.

Go to a proper piercing place (they usually do tattoos as well) and do not fiddle with it or attempt any kind of changing till it has healed about 8 weeks later. I was told not to put anything on my face, including makeup, too, during that period.

And I can’t imagine it would have impeded my employment prospects at all. It’s just a little sparkler. Looks fab. DD1 has hers done this summer and hers looks great too.

I have a big nose and have worn a stud on and off for the last 25 years. I am pretty sure that jewellery makes no difference to how noticeable my huge hooter is Grin

Judydreamsofhorses · 01/10/2017 22:20

My friend bought a little magnetic stud thing and wore that for a few days to see how it looked/how she felt about it before she got hers done.

Belindaboom · 01/10/2017 23:22

I got mine done at 25 - I am not cool, at that point I was wearing suits and I liked the fact they didn't go.

I am sensible and not the piercing type but 4 years on and I still love it. My family want to know when I'm taking it out but I won't be for the foreseeable future.

I'm saying that, I did let it close up st one point as the first piercing just wasn't right. It healed up and you couldn't tell it had ever been there. Then I got it done again Grin

Wolfiefan · 01/10/2017 23:29

Under no circumstances get a yellow or green colour "gem" stud. I used to teach a girl who had that every time I saw her I thought she had a particularly nasty zit on the side of her nose! Blush
Maybe I just need better glasses?!Grin

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 02/10/2017 08:31

So many posts!! Thank you so much for all your comments, they are much appreciated... I have decided to just go for it Smile and I promise I won't get a green stud Wink

My favourites are: Etsy, amazon (for weekends!) and also amazon for more subtle

Wolfiefan · 02/10/2017 09:39

Haha. Good. I'm in my 40s and still contemplating a tattoo or two!
