I am looking for a warm, waterproof coat for walking commute to work.
I don't want it to make me look like a barrel Smile.
Does it exist ?

I'm a 14/16 and have the large
It is a super coat and very smart in black, warm and with a hood.

I had similar criteria as you(but for school run) and recently bought this craghoppers cayley parka. It is super warm (too warm for now have had to put in cupboard until it's colder!) and so far so good waterproof. Drawstring waist so not entirely shapeless.
I'm not sure if considered smart enough or not though.

Matalan had some nice, warm padded coats in a range of colours which are very flattering on! Bit like Joules style but much cheaper. Don't normally shop in there other than buying their brilliant work trousers but was tempted!!

I tried on the French Connection hooded coats suggested by a pp that are currently in TK Maxx. Again very flattering on but I wasn't sure if they'd be warm enough?

I spent all Saturday morning shopping for coats. Didn't find one. All of the Seasalt ones made me look like my mother. And I don't want a parka. So that's in then; there's nothing and I'm going to freeze.
