Your ultimate, perfect eyeliner

I think I've tried most eyeliners under the sun!

Liquid ones don't seem to have enough pigment - tried stila (probably the best), Kat Von D, Charlotte Tilbury etc

Pencil liner - probably perversion by Urban Decay is best for pigmentation but good god it doesn't last more than 3-4 weeks!

Besides which they all seem to end up panda-ing my eyes by 5pm

I've now read reviews of the Marc Jacobs gel pencils and the liquid eyeliners. They're ££ but I'm happy to pay for good pigmentation and a lack of smudge! Has anyone tried these or have I missed any other decent ones?

I second Seventeen Tattoo me. It's a bit gloopy but really the longest lasting. The blackest most pigmented very matte one was a cream liner from Inglot.

Essence ones are fab!

Indeed they are! I have a problem normally with liquids but the blue and black pots of waterproof liquid (the pot not the liner colour!) from Wilco (Essence) are very good.

L'Oréal superliner- easy and stays on x

Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner in a pot. I have tried many over the years and this stuff is fantastic.

Urban Decay for pencils, and the Guerlain liquid liner (in dark brown) for liquid. As long as I use a tiny, tiny bit of UD primer underneath, neither of these ever shifts.

I like the Guerlain because it has an actual brush rather than a felt tip, and personally I get a better, sharper, lovelier line that way. It's probably just individual preference though.

I used to use the BB gel liner but I found it dried out in the pot faster than I'd like for the price. It would be brilliant for three weeks and then there'd be just the slightest, subtlest degradation in texture and that would make it suddenly more awkward to work with.

Avon glimmersticks! You’ll never go back!

Opheliasgoldenwine · 29/09/2017 11:22

I'm telling you, Seventeen Tattoo Me is the longest lasting one there is; you have to scrub it off! @MeganChips was right, it's the best one Smile

I think tattoo me has been discontinued,I haven't been able to get it since I first saw it recommended on here at least a year ago.

Wtfdoicare · 29/09/2017 12:08

Essence twist up eyeliners from Wilkos are the best I've tried and I've tried a lot of more expensive brands. I buy a handful at a time.

You sound like you've got oily lids, so I'd recommend a good eye lid primer before you even think about a liner.

It won't matter what liner you use if you're eyelids turn into a slick. It will all come off and lose colour / go panda.

I recommend a good primer and a dusting of translucent powder just where you apply your liner and then whatever you use will last.

Have you also tried to apply the liner on the upper waterline?

Opheliasgoldenwine · 29/09/2017 12:23

@DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen I bought it two months ago in Boots xx

Bluesheep8 · 29/09/2017 17:01

I use clinique quickliner or Avon glimmersticks, I have super oily eyelids and these do not budge

Ollivander84 · 29/09/2017 18:30

Depends whether for top or bottom or tightlining! For top eyelid and wings I use maybelline gel pot one, it doesn't budge

I have similar problems and Revlon Colorstay ticks all of the boxes. Under £7 too.
