Wallis have changed their Demi jeans, and they're so much worse

I've gone down a size so had to order some new trousers. My old Demi jeans, which were just right for my shape, are a bit loose so I ordered new ones in the next size down. But they've changed the waistband, it used to be stretch denim the same material as the jeans, but now it's a nasty and cheap looking wide piece of elastic. It means that I can only wear very long tops with them as I wouldn't want the waistband to show. Plus it doesn't have the structural integrity of the original waistband, so every time I sit or bend at the waist it rolls over on itself. It also doesn't grip as well, so I'm constantly having to either haul them back into position or straighten the waistband. And because it doesn't sit correctly, it's all looking very baggy around my arse (possibly also because I have quite a flat arse and now less of it than I did) and feels a bit weird around the crotch (like there's too much fabric there).

I'm so pissed off.

No help but I find it SO annoying when this happens.

DP did it to their Eden jeggings; they went from being lovely and soft and flattering to being too tight around the stiff waistband and badly fitting, stiff fabric on the leg.

Topshop messed around with their Leigh jeans too. They were my holy grail jeans

It's such a pain as now I need to start trying new styles again and I hate clothes shopping. I do have a pair of Uniqlo trouser leggings that I quite like, so I might try the jeans version of that (also need to downsize in Uniqlo anyway).

May I suggest starting a thread asking for recommendations for the type of jeans you’re after? The S&B board is so useful for ideas, and that will give you a good starting point rather than blindly going shopping for jeans (which is bad enough, but awful if you hate shopping).

Good idea, I'm just about to head out for the first of my school runs, but I'll start one tonight when the fashionistas are more likely to be surfing. Grin
