... by selling a pump for £5, bringing the cost from a hefty £32.50 to £37.50. Bastards. I guess you would only need to buy it once and transfer it from the old bottle to the new. Has anyone used it? Is it effective?

What's a double wear bottle?

ElspethFlashman · 24/09/2017 09:11

Other pumps fit it. I have a Mac pump on mine. Ugly as fuck but it works perfectly.

ElspethFlashman · 24/09/2017 09:12

I suspect Rimmel pumps might fit it too, but that's just from looking, I haven't tried it.

Lucked · 24/09/2017 09:13

You don't need a new pump every time, it's a one off purchase.

Lucked · 24/09/2017 09:15

Sorry yes I have it. Very overpticed for a tiny bit of plastic but working very well.

timeisnotaline · 24/09/2017 10:05

I bought it but I'm actually finding it very easy to just tip the bottle and get a bit out. I have the lighter ELDW though. I find the sales assistants pretty bloody useless in selling me the product I want though, that's my Estée Lauder gripe.

Softkitty2 · 24/09/2017 10:35

ferrier double wear is an estee lauder foundation

MorrisZapp · 24/09/2017 10:39

I was at the Armani foundation counter yesterday, lady there was advising a client that the power fabric isn't as full coverage 'as a double wear'.

I'm very much a sheer/hinty tinty type makeup person but part of me wanted to dash over to Estee Lauder just to experience it.

dudsville · 24/09/2017 13:13

I decant! I have an empty pot, glass, from a cream I finished, and I drop a few drops into it from time to time and dab my brush into that. When I get to the end of the bottle I tip it upside down (because I'm stingy with money!) over the pot, suspended in place by resting it on a scaffolding of nail files, until the last bits drop out. Or yeah, get the pump.

riskyinred · 24/09/2017 18:26

MAC sell a pump for £4.50. Fits the bottle perfectly.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/09/2017 18:29

Just bought my first bottle of Double Wear. Love the foundation but the bottle is ridiculous. Can't believe they are still selling it in pump-less bottles in the year 2017.

AncoraAmarena · 24/09/2017 20:25

I bought one on eBay for a couple of pounds.

CantChoose · 24/09/2017 20:50

I bought the Mac pump years ago for mine. It still annoys me though, there's always loads I can't get out at the end and the glass bottle is too heavy for travel. Why oh why won't they do it in a tube like the light???

TheSpottedZebra · 24/09/2017 20:52

It used to work if you put your thumb on the open neck and shook it. Does that no longer work?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 24/09/2017 23:17

That's what I do. I don't think I'll bother with the pump.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/09/2017 23:20

Is the DoubleWear massively different from the DW Light?

I've been using DW Light for years, but a finding it doesn't give adequate coverage any more. I've always been slightly scared of DoubeWear - is it very heavy?

PaperdollCartoon · 25/09/2017 01:08

When I wore it I used a cotton bud to get some out, put it on my hand or face then use brush from there.

ThisIsVeryImportant · 25/09/2017 06:32

I have caved in and bought a pot of double wear and the pump; oh and a primer. They had 15% off on their website... sucker...

AnneEyhtMeyer, I personally use DW light in the summer months and the other in winter. I like both products...

I bought my first bottle of DW last week. LOVE it. Seriously.

For those asking what it's like - go to an Estee Lauder counter and ask for a colour check and a sample. They put the little machine thingy against your cheek and tell you which of the 50 shades might be best. They decant a good size dribble into a tiny screw top pot and off you go. My sample lasted over a week with daily use! Then i forked out the £36 for a full size. Can't speak highly enough of it. Easy to spread, stays put, not claggy, covers dark circles and red cheeks. Colour match is the best i've had for literally years. (pale almond).

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/09/2017 00:11

Thanks very much - will do that. My red cheeks are what is making me need more coverage. I'm almost out of DW Light and moisturiser and Boots have got a Gift Time coming up so it is a good time to make the switch.

Botanicbaby · 26/09/2017 09:20

I can easily understand why Doublewear doesn't come in pump type bottles- you just wouldn't need it? Unless it was a precision pump that decanted tiny amounts at a time.

I don't wear it anymore but I used to many years ago and it's so full coverage you only need a tiny bit. It's best to get a sample pot and use that for carrying around plus use cotton buds to get it out. Keep the big bottle at home and decant.

Double wear light is a totally different beast and last I remember is in a squeezy applicator type bottle.
