ethical shoes for work pleeeeeeeeease!!!!!!

where can i find shoes for work that are both ethical and financially doable? (i don't earn all that much!) i went into clarks a couple of days ago and found some really comfortable black shoes in 5 1/2 that felt like bliss to wear after the ones i normally wear. however, i would prefer ethical shoes as these were made in vietnam and i do not want to buy any shoes that were possibly made in a "sweat-shop".

can anyone help me please???????

Oh but Green Shoes are fab, so friendly and helpful and excellent quality - shoes that really last. And they only seem expensive because we (as a nation) have got used to artificially cheap products. Doesn't help if you're skint though!

it seems to me that ethical shopping still has more than a hint of the hippy about ti, so it seems difficult to find ethical and smart work shoes, most clothes seem casual or very high fashion iykwim

Clarks are selling a few styles of shoe which are kind of fair trade I think, ie a percentage goes to an African charity, saw them while I was last in there. Might be on website?
