No idea what to wear in my late 30s!

Please could you let me have any ideas, in terms of items of clothing or specific retailers?

I am in my late 30s. I don't buy many clothes any more as everything seems either too young for me or too old. I have ridiculous amounts of clothes from years of buying but rarely have anything to wear, if you see what I mean.

Skinny jeans always feel uncomfortable, my boot cut ones feel outdated. Leggings are ok but it's hard to find nice long tops. Skirts aren't practical any more (toddler). Not sure what's fashionable and not sure I like the look of it anyway.

I like to feel comfortable but want to like how I look too. I'm size 10 if that's useful.

Thank you!

Budget?

I'm almost 37.

Whistles, comptoir de cottoniers, Malene Birger, Sandro.

Warehouse and oasis good for basics.

I never ever wear bloody leggings! So I'd bin them all if I were you.

I'm 37 and I love fashion and I shop all over the place - you can find nice things anywhere so don't rule anywhere out. I get things from New Look, h and m, next, m and s (!), gap etc etc.

Right now I love wearing wide leg jeans or trousers with slogan tops and jumpers that end on the waist with new balance trainers or flat boots.

I also like to wear just above the knee length dresses (either shirt style or cord / dungaree dress is very fashionable right now) with my doc marten shoes but I know that's not for everyone!

I think hair and make up make a huge difference to an overall look to be honest. If they're good anything can go!

If you are on Instagram I follow someone called "smalltownthreads" and she does some very good fashion ideas for a slightly older person Grin (she's not me by the way; I follow tons of people)!

Thanks for your replies.

Budget wise mid to high end high street I guess. I don't usually shop in primark for example.

I haven't heard of some of those suggestions so I'll have a look.

I suppose part of the problem is having pretty much zero time to shop.

I don't know how I managed shopping before the internet! I do like shopping for clothes in person, you can see a lot in one go, but yes I think now the internet is the way forward.
