What do people in their late 30s wear on a night out

Off on a holiday soon to miami and it will involve some nights out. Probably meals and bars rather than clubs. It has been a long time since I went out for a night due to kids etc and before that it was often straight from work so no outfit needed. What do you wear these days? Actually not sure I have ever had the right clothes for this as even in my going out days it was more pubs and rock clubs do casual. Aaasgggghhhh.

If anyone could link some suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Should probably also say I am a couple of stone overweight and very pear shaped.

Anything I feel good in. In a hot city like miami I would wear a dress and nice sandals with a pedicure. I'd wear a bit more eye make-up than in the day time and pin my hair up as the humidity would otherwise make it frizz.

I like Cos and Oliver Bonas at the moment. Although Monsoon sometimes has nice dresses but it's a hard time of year to find nice summer dresses in the UK.
