What shoes to wear with straight leg jeans?

I've just bought some straight leg jeans after years of wearing only skinnies, but now I'm a bit stuck - what shoes look good with straight legs? Mine look good with heels, but I don't want to wear those on the school run!

Chelsea boots or ankle boots .

I've tried them with my boots and they just don't look right (or feel comfortable, definitely need a bit more space at the ankle with boots in there!)

You might be wearing them too long. Try rolling them up a couple of times, or shortening them - there has to be a reasonable gap between the bottom of your jeans and any shoes and then try wearing them with loafers, brogues or ankle boots with a heel.

Have a look on some websites Whistles, or Matches - they're really being worn much shorter than you might think - maybe that'll make them work for you?

I don't tuck my jeans in , they sort of just ruffle at the top of them

Ouch, I'm definitely going to struggle (mentally) with 'too short' jeans! At 5'10" and a 35" inside leg I spent my teens wearing jeans too short for me in the days when it definitely was not okay, but I had no option as longer lengths were v. hard to come by. I roll up my skinnies in the summer to wear with sandals or ballet flats, but ankles out in autumn/winter? Not sure. All those examples on the whistles site were wearing backless mules and sliders. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Well I'm wearing loafers at the mo , it's too warm for boots for me yet . If you have long legs then what about any of these options

I've just bought the jigsaw pumps and the black ones are my feet 😬 . I was breaking them in on the sofa! 🤔

I like your loafers. Maybe I should give some a try, haven't worn loafers since school. I am realising I have been in a boots and skinny jeans rut for too long!

I have this problem too and at some point soon I am going to want to bewear socks.

Loafers are everywhere this autumn! The black ones are Tesco's!! They do a range of super comfy shoes and these are from that . I have very difficult feet !
