have failed to buy wedding outfit in large town due to small racks and sticky-outy child's wheelchair

now I have a small topshop, a small monsoon and a small next to go in

I wanted to get something very bright and funky that I could also wear to dad's retirement party (his kids are in their 20s and will be bringing glam girlfriends)

am short. am hour-glass without the norks. I have black pointy shoes and some red little slipper type things

Oh who cares about them!

NEVER pass up an opportunity to wear a hat!

Cappuccino · 04/04/2007 13:50

oh mi I am afraid

if you can see the mannequin's lumpy bits through that dress what the hell will it do for me?

MrsBadger · 04/04/2007 13:50

I look great in orange (sallowish non-pinky skin, dull brown hair) - worth trying on at least

motherinferior · 04/04/2007 13:51

But I have met you and you do not look lumpish to moi.

JackieNo · 04/04/2007 13:51

Nice orange top in monsoon.

Cappuccino · 04/04/2007 13:52

yes but I was wearing a considerable amount of layers at the time

OP posts:
motherinferior · 04/04/2007 13:54

Cor, I like that top, but my norks would let me down.

Cappuccino · 04/04/2007 13:55

what do we think about this ? I think I glimpsed it

I mean I have no shoes but it's only 45 quid so I could still buy some

what do we wear under it to stop everyone seeing my underthings?

or is it too non-weddingy?

OP posts:
motherinferior · 04/04/2007 13:56

do the link again

Cappuccino · 04/04/2007 13:56

oh you see that didn't work

\link{http://www.monsoon.co.uk/invt/95194672\try again}

littleEasterlapin · 04/04/2007 13:57

Very pretty but I thought you wanted funkier? and what about shoes?

Cappuccino · 04/04/2007 14:00

oh I know

I think actually that your plan is best with the skirt and whatnot

can i ask what 'norks' are please?

MrsBadger · 04/04/2007 14:05

you get three guesses

JackieNo · 04/04/2007 14:09

Two guesses, surely, MrsB - one for each of them.

wheresthevalium · 04/04/2007 14:10

Oooh, like some of those suggestions, sorry Cappuccino for the hijack, but I need similar help, will start another thread

Cappuccino · 04/04/2007 14:22

GOOD GOD EVERYBODY I HAVE JUST REMEMBERED

I have a pretty skirt it's black with white flowers on

and a white blouse

they are all packed away in a vacuum bag for the summer (I'm so Anthea ) and I had forgotten

can I wear a black skirt? it is very pretty maybe I could buy a coloured cardi if you would like that to go with it

and I have a clutch bag which will go

OP posts:
littleEasterlapin · 04/04/2007 14:24

red cardi/pashmina? (don't all shout at me about the pashmina!)

oranges · 04/04/2007 14:28

just go in black and white. Very chic. Not a coloured cardi.

Cappuccino · 04/04/2007 14:28

red cardi!

oh god I look good in red

pashmina tho... (resists urge to shout)

OP posts:
oranges · 04/04/2007 14:29

not black white and red. you'll look like a sunburnt penguin!

Cappuccino · 04/04/2007 14:30

OP posts:
littleEasterlapin · 04/04/2007 14:33

LOL oranges!

Someone wore red black and white to my wedding, and she looked FAB.
