Can you help me dress for a fancy wedding Please?

I'm going to a wedding the last wend of Oct.

It's at a very fancy country house hotel.

I have met some of the female guests and they are all very young, pretty, slim and glamouorus, like something off Made in Chelsea Blush

I am fat and 40s, and feel very church mouse ish in comparison . Am hoping I'll be a little slimmer by then as currently dieting like mad, but still a size 18/20. And I only have a minimal budget, £30-50, to cover my Ehle outfit (though hopefully I should have shoes and bag already that I can use).

Can anyone help?

Start in Charity shops for elaborate elegant fascinator or hat and build an outfit from there

I got a very flattering dress from bravissimo for a wedding this summer. It was plain navy but such a nice cut. Not that expensive, maybe £40? I wore grey heels and got a necklace from Oliver Bonas. I'm a similar size to you and I got lots of compliments. The dress was so well fitting it looked good and I felt comfortable in it.

I also like Biba dresses from House of Fraser. Possibly a bit over your budget but not massively, most dresses £40-60 ish. They have unusual patterns and nice fabrics, they go up to a 20 and come up on the loose side.

I don't think it's so much weight or size you need to worry about as shape. What shape are you and how tall?

Have you tried looking on eBay? You could look at dresses from very, phase eight and monsoon. Can you get your hair styled professionally on the morning? I always think it makes such a difference!

Elsie's attic is a good site - embrace the curves!

I'm 5ft 6, shapewise I'm reasonable arms and legs, sort of hourglass bit a bit thicker around the waist than i should be at the moment but that's where I normally lose weight first.

I am not a fan of hairdressers but I might try and brave getting my hair done as i can't blow dry it properly!

I honestly can't recommend these dresses highly enough, excellent fabric and very flattering. I'm a size 20 and I get loads of complements on mine

They do a variety of colours (I know it's slowly out of Budget)
