Panicking a bit. I'm beginning the process of going from brunette to blonde, and I keep changing my mind in what shades of blonde I want. Can anyone who is good with hair guide me on the shades of blonde these pics are? For the ombre colour i obviously mean the blonde xx

I can't really be of much help having been brunette forever but to me they are ash blonde.

Ash blonde

With highlights

They're all ash. The darkest one is around a level 7 I'd guess and the lightest one a level 9.

You can take the pics to show the stylist, that will give them a better idea. If you go to a salon that uses Wella, I recently toned my daughters hair with Koleston 10/16 and it was a gorgeous, cool blonde.

Not blonde either but this link may be helpful.

I don't think what you're looking for is not quite ash but on the ash side of the spectrum....maybe sandy?

I do prefer ash over more warm tones of blonde. Ugh I'm so half tempted to just cancel the appointment since I don't want to end up with something I don't like, especially since they will be bleaching it xx

Can't you just take the pictures?

You could arrange a colour consultation beforehand with the stylist to discuss what they are going to do. They will have colour charts. You can add different hairstyles to pics of yourself also to get an idea of what effect a colour change might have.

Please don't cancel an appt on the day. Most hairdressers are self employed and if they can't fill the slot at very short notice they'll lose money. That's not fair.

As others say, rather than trying to describe a colour take the pics with you. It's far easier to misinterpret words than it is pics. If you're nervous then take it gradually, perhaps a few highlights over your current colour to see how you get on.
