Best home colour for hard to dye hair/greys?

What are your home dye recommendations for hair that doesn't take well to any kind of hair treatments? I have brown/black hair but want to colour some greys (I say greys - they are bright silver). Not sure if this is relevant but I am of mixed English/East Asian heritage and my hair is pretty coarse.

For context I had a salon dye about 15 years ago and it barely took. Previous to that on the two occasions when I went to get a bubble perm back in the 1980s (I know, I know!) I came out with just waves despite the hairdressers leaving the solution on for longer than usual.

I really can't afford to try a salon colour again only for it not to work. Last tried a home hair dye 7 years ago which was only slightly effective. I assume technology has come on in the last few years? Any recommendations?

TIA

Try majirel - buy online and use at home.
It's brilliant at covering greys and doesn't fade.

You might find that colouring has moved on and takes a lot better now - I used to have exactly the same issue about 15-20 years ago but I now regularly have a semi permanent colour done to cover greys.

I bought the l'oreal excellence yesterday so will see how that goes and will try the majirel next if needs be.

Thanks all.

I use L'Oréal excellence darkest brown for my Indian hair and it seems to work
