Vegetarian school shoes in adult female size

Help! I've left it rather late to get new school shoes (ideally brogues/Oxfords) for DD who wants them vegetarian. No time to go to Brighton for Vegetarian Shoe Company as she wants. Any good ideas?

Esprit?

PurpleDaisies · 03/09/2017 11:00

Doctor martens do vegetarian shoes

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 03/09/2017 11:06

Esprit don't seem to have anything suitable at the moment unfortunately.
I had no idea you could get Vegan Docs. But the price is a bit Hmm because with Docs the process of breaking them in means that there's an additional element of risk in the purchase.

Docs aren't fun to break in but once you're through that they're amazingly comfortable and long lasting.

I'm a bit twitchy because I wore them for many years in my twenties and was used to the breaking in process, but then they changed the shape slightly and the next pair I got never worked for me.

After a Google I'm going to try Third Estate in Kentish Town and see how I get on.

Wills vegan shoes have lovely shoes including brogues / oxfords

MrsSquiggler · 03/09/2017 21:13

New Look do a lot of non-leather shoes. But lots of lovely choices on the Third Estate website, good find!

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 03/09/2017 21:22

New Look is my fallback but Third Estate stocks Wills so I'll try and get them.

Linzi do some non leather (my DD choice)
I buy M&S non leather but your teenager (if she's anything like mine ) probably wouldn't be seen in M&S Grin

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 05/09/2017 18:30

We had a very successful trip to Third Estate, who had a wide choice, and we bought a pair of Wills Oxfords. Not cheap (Clarks Hamble Oaks would have beeen cheaper) so they'd bloody better wear well, but not 150 quid Shock like the Doc Martens.

Primark, Deichmans, M&S all offer 'vegan' shoes in that they are made of non-leather material.

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 05/09/2017 19:26

I'll try M&S if the Wills don't last the year. Never tried Deichmans, but definitely don't trust Primark (she has dodgy feet so needs something properly constructed).
