Where can I get a good pair of tapered trousers for work?

You know, the tapered /cigarette style.
Without the bunchy paper bag waistline?

I have a few casual, colourful pairs and they're gorgeous. It's my ideal style of trousers. Usually I don't get on at all well with any sort of trouser, but omg these have been a revelation. I want to find a reasonably priced, indestructible black version for work, buy ten pairs, and wear them for the rest of my life

I got some pink ones for summer from Next. I'm thinking of getting them in black for my new job.

Flyinggeese · 02/09/2017 20:15

Topshop is usually brilliant for these.

DianaT1969 · 02/09/2017 20:21

OP - where did you buy the casual, colourful ones? They sound good.

jenniuol · 02/09/2017 20:32

I got a pair in Zara recently, they only had black but they're good. Thinking of buying more.

OttersPocket · 02/09/2017 20:37

Believe it or not I have brilliant ones from Autograph at M&S. I've got black and navy blue and wear them constantly for work. They are fab.

camelfinger · 02/09/2017 20:42

Ooh, I've got some of the autograph ones on order already. Quite excited.

custardcreamplease · 02/09/2017 21:24

I actually got one of the pairs from bloody Tesco's! They are fantastic, fit perfectly and are indestructible. Another pair were from Zara.

Thanks for the recommendations, I've ordered the Autograph ones!

H&M... I love love love them! I used to only buy the M&S 7/8 ones but I've not looked back since discovering these! They're only about £14 I think and come in lots of plain colours and patterns too. They're quite fitted though but look lovely on and wash well!

NC4now · 02/09/2017 21:54

I can't get along with H&M trouser sizes. Soul destroying 😩

ConfusedofCardigan · 02/09/2017 22:02

Would someone mind posting a link to the Autograph trousers? I had a look and couldn't find them.

emma8t4 · 02/09/2017 22:06

I got 3 pairs last wear from oasis and Warehouse, probably worth a look.

NC4now · 02/09/2017 22:12

What shoes do you wear with them? My new job has a smarter dress code than I have now because I'm freelance and work in my pyjamas and I'm thinking tapered trousers and blouses are probably the way to go.

BlueEyedWonder · 02/09/2017 22:28

Agree about this style of trouser.
Topshop are good for them. I'm petite and their petite range has bright colours as well as black and grey.

Next also have some. Plain black I think. Also a check pair I've ordered to try.

thenightsky · 02/09/2017 22:30

Best ever were from sainsburys. Thinner fabric but equally as good were M&S, but I had to take a gazillion pairs into the changing room to find 'the ones'.

Autograph trousers. Not sure how tapered they are but will see on Tuesday.

OttersPocket · 04/09/2017 15:52

I bought my Autograph ones last year - they were a bit more tapered than those linked to above and have wool in them. Damn you M&S - they were the perfect trousers!

Uniqulo
