Can we talk about slippers?

What do we all wear?

I usually buy Ikea/supermarket slip ons, but happy to invest in something a bit more expensive but durable and preferably stylish.

DH has mahabis, they were worn out after just over a year. He bought a second pair though. Hmm

christinarossetti · 30/08/2017 12:54

A year? I'd expect a life time out of them at that price.

I like the Homeys, but the men's not the women's. Not sure that I can get past the ridiculous blurb on the website though!

Costco imitation Ugg slippers - about £25 whereas the Uggs are more like £80. Real sheepskin, proper sole, last forever.

Mothervulva · 30/08/2017 13:32

I wouldn't recommend Rosetti

FourEyesGood · 30/08/2017 13:48

I like the look of the Homeys slippers but it's so annoying that they come in SML sizes rather than proper shoe sizes.

HLBug · 30/08/2017 13:55

Uggs. Will now never wear anything else. Did try Mahabis but didn't find them comfortable and the sole was a faff. They're returns process was also a complete faff.

Rinceoir · 31/08/2017 09:49

Ugg. Have never worn their ugly boots but the slippers are soft and cosy. I've had mine 2 years now and they are in great shape.

FrenchRoast · 31/08/2017 10:07

Birkies mostly - lasted for 5 years, very sad to part with them.

ElspethFlashman · 31/08/2017 10:11

I have Birkenstock Boston Mules which are great cos of the proper sole for going to the corner shop in but am annoyed I have to wear socks with them so next year will buy the shearling lined ones.

LunaTheCat · 31/08/2017 10:14

Glerups from Denmark. My current pair have lasted me 4 years.

I've wear Mahabis. I've had them for almost a year and there's loads of wear in them, they're very comfy and I love them.

LemonBreeland · 31/08/2017 10:43

I have kirkland slippers from Costco. Lime uggs but cheaper. The sheepskin is so cosy and the chunky sole is great. Mine usually last 2 years.

MrsMarigold · 31/08/2017 10:49

I had Just Sheepskin I wore every day for five years, I've got some more, the only warm things in our freezing cold house.

Thanks so much for the brilliant suggestions.

I've taken delivery of a pair of boy's Homey's (top tip - if your feet are no larger than a size 6, you can buy children's which are cheaper) and my feet are very, very cosily ensconced.
