what top to wear?

OK, I need inspiring. Since giving birth none of my tops fit quite right. My norks are bigger and all the tops I have are just too short.

I have a muffin top which needs disguising and need ease of access for breastfeeding. I usually wear t shirts with a v neck jumper but I'm so bored of that now.

I need it to be washable and wash well. I like shops like Monsoon, Kew etc but I'm stuck in a rut. I'm a size 18 on top due to huuuge breastfeeding norks but I'm reasonably in proportion. I wear jeans but bored of them too.

Any help, suggestions are most welcome.

tunics?

kittypants · 01/04/2007 23:32

i wish i had your problem.cant help with big boobs question.

llareggub · 01/04/2007 23:35

I think tunics would make me look dumpy. And possibly frumpy. But I don't know really. I don't really do trends as such - where could I find a tunic to try on?

large norks + tunic too often = Hattie Jacques Matron Bosom
get one with a low neck and without gathers on the bustline - seem to remember a nice one in French Connection but can't find it now. Def more girl on the right than girl on the left

I have exactly the same problem it's so boring isn't it?
I rotate the same topsday in day out. Yesterday the only size I got on in Hennes was size 20!!
I bought an organic t shirt in New Look, 3/4 length sleeves lowish round neck with a little peep hole detail only £12. It's working quite well not tent like, only slightly clingy so no muffin tops on obvious view. tried it on in limey green - crap, but in dark grey/brown -perfect.
I'm watching this thread with hope.
I around a 14 on the bottom half.
A perfect top would be - deep v neck front to make chest look less wide, then slightly waisted (empire line? ) under boobs for shape...then looseish over waist to hide bumps but not make us look pregnant again...oh and easy to lift to feed. medium sized pattern would help hide lumps too!

  • not much to ask is it?

JackieNo · 02/04/2007 09:17

NOt sure if this would work - looks OK. This could work too, and possibly this , though both scoop neck rather than v neck.

llareggub · 02/04/2007 13:25

no I do like that last one JackieNo.

Right. I'm off to the shops this afternoon on a mission to buy a new top.

Will go again soon so please, more suggestions are welcome...

I find it really hard to do casual dressing.
