Can you wear a navy blue dress to a wedding? (Day and evening guest.)

Hi, I've seen a lovely navy blue brocade vintage style dress, but not sure if it's too evening for a wedding day guest? I'd wear it with pearls to lighten it up a bit... What do you think? I'll try to link the dress in a mo.

I wore a navy dress to a day and evening wedding a few weeks ago. Gold shoes and a cerise pashmina, looked lovely if I do say so myself!

Mine was an October wedding. Navy dress with nice embellishment (part of dress) around the neck, lovely floaty sleeves, and I wore a pinky/purple irridescent wrap, silver shoes and bag.

I got compliments! Was delighted, it's lovely when that happens.

It had two tiers to it with tiny beads around the neckline.
It was a formal dress so not something you would wear to work or interview, I've worn it since to a plush Christmas dinner.
