Slim but with newly acquired muffin top - cheap wardrobe fixes to hide it?

I'm a jeans and t shirt person and slim but a summer of no exercise has left me with slightly too tight jeans and tops that are clinging to my tummy.

I need a quick, cheap wardrobe update. For work I often wear smart jeans and fitted tops but they are not looking good at all. Is a long vest top underneath my best bet?

Hoping this is temporary and limited time to shop so am looking to work with what I have which is mainly jeans and t shirt type tops.

Square cut (think they are called pyjama) shirts. I have one from Kin at JL but have also seen them in Topshop.
Or looser tshirts? Try Oasis or Warehouse.

Thanks, just googled square cut shirts and they look flattering Smile. I find even loose t shirts cling but will investigate.

This is what Spanx were made for.
No muffin top and a flat stomach is yours once again until you take them off

Boden Ravello tops aren't bad at hiding muffin top if I recall... depends what you wear them with as they can veer into baggy which probably isn't what you want. But they're sort of skimming/swingy style.

Thanks both! Shane, may have to get a pair of Spanx. Have been invited for a posh Xmas meal and currently even if I wear black there will be a tummy bulge so if I haven't shifted it by then I'll be buying them.

Jessi, yes those kind of tops look perfect! Could wear them with jeans. Makes it clear where I have been going wrong too as most of my things are fitted tops. Was hoping for cheaper but will use as an idea and see if any are still on sale.
