What high-end makeup do you love?

I can't afford anything high-end at the moment but one day i'd love to get a classic Chanel/Dior/Guerlain red lipstick, I just think they look beautiful.

What do you love that's expensive? Or not necessarily expensive but is nice and looks classy. Either as a treat or just your everyday makeup. Please no "I would use that money to pay off my mortgage" comments.

Estée Lauder foundation
Lancôme blusher
Dior eye shadow
Tom ford and CT lipstick

Scoose · 19/08/2017 22:09

Tom ford eyeshadow quads
Violet voss ride or die palette
Charlotte tilbury pillow talk lipstick and liner
I love makeup and spend a fortune on it but it's worth every penny

peppykoala · 19/08/2017 22:18

Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadows & powder (and also the powder brush), Chanel nail polishes and totally lush Dolce & Gabbana lipstick (I do have Chanel lipsticks & they are nice but the D&G is just super luxurious - though tbh I wear more of my L'Oreal Color Riche ones than either because they just don't budge!).

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 19/08/2017 22:23

Chanel Les Beiges foundation and powder are amazing quality and so is the make up remover cream.

bunnybleu · 19/08/2017 22:28

When I was a student (a long time ago!) I splashed out on a Chanel lipstick for the graduate ball. Best lipstick ever! It still looks good now......my DD mashed the dregs of it into our cream bedroom carpet ten years ago! Confused
Def no pay the mortgage comments from me, we have a running joke except it's not really, I'll do it that if anything happens to DH I'm off to the jewellers with the insurance money first, paying off the mortgage second! Grin

Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks - have three bought either on sale/with birthday vouchers. Most luxurious packaging ever, plus the formula is fab.

silkpyjamasallday · 19/08/2017 22:35

Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, good colours and I find it stays on quite well. And smells divine.

Chanel Les Beiges eyeshadow palette, I only like very subtle makeup on special occasions and anything too obvious makes me feel like a clown.

MoreProseccoNow · 19/08/2017 22:42

Dior mascara.

HundredMilesAnHour · 19/08/2017 22:51

La Prairie loose powder - I especially love that it comes in such a huge pot and it's accompanied by a travel size version (which is about the same size as Clinique's full size loose powder(. It lasts forever too.

Marc Jacobs lipsticks, lip liners and eye liners - I'm a huge fan and rarely use anything else.

Used to love Armani cosmetics and use them religiously but I suddenly started being allergic to them :-(

wobblywonderwoman · 19/08/2017 22:54

I have just bought Ysl touche eclat so interested to see what does it work for me

The only thing I repeat buy is clarins hand and nail treatment

Also first time trying Liz earl cleanse and polish and I love it.

Garliccalamari · 19/08/2017 22:58

I like the pencils and mascara's from clinique and chanel. They really stay on well and it looks much better than cheaper stuff imo. Pity that they cost an arm and a leg. I also have a varnish from chanel and it takes a long time before it chips.

You get what you pay for ime.

noodlezoodle · 20/08/2017 01:34

I have a Chanel lipstick in Pirate that's a beautiful red. Also very satisfying packaging. I also love the 'twist' packaging for the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle travel spray, there's just something very appealing about it.

I love the Laura Mercier Candleglow foundation, it has good coverage but is dewy rather than being matte & cakey.

fauxhito · 20/08/2017 01:59

dior mascara
armani foundation
becca illuminators

I really want to try some tom ford bits now!

N0tfinished · 20/08/2017 02:17

Estée Lauder lipstick formula & packaging is lovely & feels amazing on. Tube is luxe & has that magnetic cap that's very appealing.

It's my fav over YSL Dior or NARS.

The YSL one was the biggest disappointment ever. I'd craved it for ages & finally given in... took home my prize to find it had a vile fake melon scent that turned my stomach.

BradleyPooper · 20/08/2017 02:39

Besame, NARS and Charlotte Tilbury lipstick
Marc Jacobs mascara and gel eye liner
Laura Mercier loose powder and foundation

SleepForTheWeek · 20/08/2017 09:16

Tropic skincare and make up. Not sure if it's classed as 'high end' but it's twice the price of high street brands.

I'm not really into make up but my friend kept trying to get me to try it and I did - never looked back!

It's 100% natural, vegan and cruelty free. My skin feels and looks amazing, and even though my skin can get really bad around my eyes this stuff doesn't sting or make it worse.

I particularly like the face cleanser and moisturiser, their mascara and liquid foundation. Good natural coverage without clogging skin up.

treaclesoda · 20/08/2017 09:21

I've got a Bobbi Brown eyeshadow palette that is amazing. In the palette the colours look so neutral that it's hard to imagine them even being visible on your skin. But on my eyes they are just perfect. Blend really well too. It was stupidly expensive but it really is far superior pigment to the cheaper stuff (and I'm normally someone who says 'they're mostly the same, it's just hype and marketing').

GetAHaircutCarl · 20/08/2017 09:26

Guerlain bronzer
YSL concealer/glow optimiser/foundation
Lancôme lip gloss

ShaneBitchy · 20/08/2017 09:28

Clarins tanning drops although I'll probably buy the Charlotte Tilbury Unisex glow stuff next time to see what it's like.

Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Eye Pencil is amazing. The only eyeshadow to last all day, be a great colour and still look as good as when I applied it in the morning.

Emma Hardie cleansing balm.

Donostia · 20/08/2017 09:28

Armani luminous silk foundation.
Estée lauder mascara
chanel nude nail varnish

(these are the things I find the money for!)

Estée lauder CC cream
nars matte lipstick pencils
nars orgasm blusher
benefit high beam

(these are the things i get as a treat/put on the christmas list!)

urban decay naked palette is on my wish list

Auldspinster · 20/08/2017 09:31

Chanel, Guerlain and Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks.

newpup · 20/08/2017 09:33

My Dior Rouge Lipstick and my expensive perfumes.

livefrommysofa · 20/08/2017 09:34

My make up bag consists of mainly Bare Minerals with The Balm "about them apples" palette, MAC primer and lippies, and jurlique rose water balancing mist to set my make up.

StarHeartDiamond · 20/08/2017 09:39

Clarins and Dior foundations
Chanel powder
Estée Lauder blush/bronze
Bobbi Brown eye shadows

I use any old cheap mascara but have been impressed by Bobbi Brown and Diorshow when I've got them as gifts.
Also use any old cheap eyebrow stuff (currently L'Oréal pencil and powder)
Maybelline concealers are just as good as high end particularly the one with the sponge tip
Ditto Rimmell nail varnish. They all chip eventually so I don't pay £20 for one.
Lipstick - no7 lasting matte stays on really well. Have had all sorts of high end but find they don't stay on any longer.

Beketaten · 20/08/2017 12:31

Chanel Les Beiges compact and the kabuki brush

Mac lipglass

IT Cosmetics CC cream and concealer
