Just that.
Why?

I don't wear it as my skin is freckly ( with no acne/ spots) and it just looks too matte on me,

You sound young? Wait till you are 50+!
Or you have tried the wrong kind of foundation. I've never used a matte foundation, ever.

Because I look like shit without it
If I had freckles I wouldn't wear it though! Love freckles!

Aridane · 19/08/2017 15:51

Makes me look human.

I use diluted tinted moisturiser on the central bits of my face so my skin is quite air brushed.
I wear it during evenings out as I cannot be bothered during the day - sometimes I might if I have a big presentation.
I like to skin beneath but it reduces any rednesss or bags, but I still really like to see both.

I am so jealous of people who can get away with no foundation; they usually have darker hair and a more olive skin, or rosy cheeks. My skin is the palest shade of beige- use the lightest shade of most foundations- and because I have light hair too, the whole look is ghostly.

Gotanewusernamenow · 19/08/2017 16:15

Well you all sound like your happy with foundation... But...I am put off by wearing it because of a visible line from face to neck!

Or would I make sure it was almost skin tone so as not to be so noticeable?

PollyPerky · 19/08/2017 16:20

if you can see a chade difference between face and neck, you are using the wrong shade and maybe the wrong texture.

You need matching.

At a counter they use 3 swatches of colour. The one that blends into your bare skin the best so you can't see it, is the right shade. You can also try a swatch of colour on your neck .

By 'swatch' I mean a small blob of foundation, blended in.

People wearing the wrong colour foundation for their skin tone is a real pet peeve of mine. Orange face and white neck. Not such a good look.

PollyPerky · 19/08/2017 16:32

My pet hate is young teen girls who wear it like cement. Too dark, too thick, too matte. Why do they all go so matte? It stops looking like skin FGS!
And slug eyebrows.

Gotanewusernamenow · 19/08/2017 16:33

Thanks PollyPerky

Squoosh- Exactly!

thecakefairy · 19/08/2017 16:37

I've got a shiny red nose and other various red patches. I look a bit washed out without foundation.
I am always looking for a better one though!

Gotanewusernamenow · 19/08/2017 16:38

Yes my nose goes red when the weather is cold! Grrrrr!

Beadieeye · 19/08/2017 16:40

To act as a base for the makeup I put on top of it.

wibblywobblyfish · 19/08/2017 16:59

I use it a bit like polyfilla.

PollyPerky · 19/08/2017 17:04

Gotanewusernamenow Have you had a look at the www.bobbibrown.co.uk Bobbi Brown]] website? Look at the guide/videos for foundations. One type comes in 32 shades.

Gotanewusernamenow · 19/08/2017 18:23

I will have a look now.
Thanks! PollyPerky

It's my mask when I teach. I make up quite heavily at school.
I don't wear it in the holidays.

DCFlemingreportingforduty · 19/08/2017 20:28

I have rosacea.

MorrisZapp · 19/08/2017 20:34

I don't have wrinkles but at 46 I'm looking a bit more like boiled bacon than I used to. I'd bloody love to use foundation but I can't, my skin is just too dry and instead of covering texture, it highlights it and makes it worse.

I've tried so many times but I give up. I can't even manage tinted moisturiser. I use a light fake tan instead to look human.

Stoneagemum · 19/08/2017 20:39

So if I'm feeling under the weather and don't wear it work think I'm really ill and send me home.
