Eeeeek - DD has been a G for yonks and sudde nly she's at the extreme end of H !! Been to 3 Clarks shops today and none of them have anything they would sell me !!! She's a 12.5 H and has tried on 5 pairs of that size but they say they are all too narrow on her !!

What do I do ??

Send her to school in wellies ???

Does anyone know any brands that are wider fitting ?? We've had Start-Rite in the past but no shops sell them here so I will have to take a trip somewhere !

If you live anywhere near west london there is a brilliant shop in Ealing

Porpoise · 30/03/2007 16:01

Rocosta are good and wide (if pricey).
Don't know what their girls' shoes are like, though

LucyJu · 30/03/2007 16:01

Geox shoes are also wide fitting. Wheraabouts are you? There might be a department store which sells start rite.

scatterbrain · 30/03/2007 16:08

Thanks - I need to take a trip somewhere big I think !!! Reading is my nearest big shooping centre - and I know John Lewis have a good shoe department - so looks like I will be off there next week !

I am the same.

DS" is 2.5 and is a 6H!! I cannot get trainers for him at the moment which is a real pain.

I was hoping he would grow out of it but his cute little chubby feet are so gorgeous!

My dd wears clodhoppers, and I've found that continental brands are better than Clarks or Startrite. At the moment she is wearing Umi.

fishie · 30/03/2007 16:16

try to find an independent shop, i think clarks is a racket and a rip off. another vote for geox too.

I googled Umi but they are in USA! did you get them sent over or are there suppliers here?

NoodleStroodle · 30/03/2007 16:30

Definitely find an independent. Department stores only stock the run-of-the-mill and you need a specialist with a good knowledge. My DD has very very narrow feet - pity we can't cobble something between us!

scatterbrain · 30/03/2007 18:42

Thanks everyone !

Clarks won't order them for you anymore by the way - they've stopped it as they are launching an online ordering service !

Someone in RL has just told me about an independent shoe shop in Fleet - looks like I will be off there next week then ! Used to go to a great one in Reading (In-Step) but they closed the branch ! It had been on the Tweenies as well !

DS has been on and off an H forever. Startrite tend to go wider IME. Also more expensive but their school shores are very hardwearing.
