How to look put-together without spending a fortune?

I need help. I am literally the frumpiest woman in town. I need ideas for clothes/makeup/accessories/hairstyles that are nice, classy and VERY low maintenance. For example, I have just enough time to brush my hair in the morning, so can't possibly spend ages blow drying and curling/staightening/colouring my hair.

I am blonde, shoulder length hair, pale, blue-grey eyes.
5 ft 4, chubby. Broad shoulders, big bust, relatively narrow waist, big hips. Short legs, big and X-shaped, sadly. Cannot wear heels to save my life. I have a toddler. What can I do to look half-decent? I know I look terrible in T-Shirts, they don't suit my body shape at all. I also hate bootcut or wide leg jeans, and I detest the 50's housewife style. But I'd like to show off my waist... Any ideas? :)

I think you under estimate yourself you've got a lovely shape!!!

Not chubby and you've got nice legs and a great nip in waist

Look at Boden for jersey dresses - plain ones, not the crazy prints.

I really like tan bags/boots with black outfits.

Denim shirt dresses are flattering to your ( my ) body shape! Also wedge heels work wonders and aren't at all like wearing actual heels.

Don't think it needs to be cropped cardigans, just well-fitting ones rather than loose/boyfriend fit.

Oh and tan ankle boots don't chop you off at the ankle Smile like dark ones do. There's lots online for hourglass figures but it's more general ideas rather than specific items of clothing that are currently in the shops. I find biker jackets or military jackets suit me, blazers not so much ( fear of looking like Hattie jacques)

I have nothing to add but just wanted to say you have a lovely figure! Nothing like you described in your first post. Smile
