Wise style and beauty ladies, I am on holiday in Poland and have stumbled across a Korean beauty shop. What products should I buy especially to sort out face skin? I am 42, have dullish complexion some lines but also blackheads on nose and hairline. I sound such a charmer. Please help me make wise purchases

Collagen eye masks! Are there any brands? Etude House? Skinfood? The Face shop?

HarrietKettleWasHere · 10/08/2017 11:23

I'm totally jealous by the way. I lived there for two years and was an idiot not to bring a load of stuff back was 25 and didn't look to my future

Good for you! My choices would be

Charcoal nose packs, really clean the pores of your nose
Face masks, you will look like Hannibal Lector
Magic stone, soap kind of thing that really gets rid of dirt
Perfect Whip (Japanese but they may have it) wonderful for washing your face
DH Oil again Japanese but may well be stocked
Fairy Drops mascara (need good remover though)
Aura Beam cream
If they have any foot peeling cream (Babyfoot?) they are great but scary

Harrietthanks for the response, I don't know brands as I have just lurked outside looking at the vast array of stuff that just promises to knock years off...feeling intimidated by the young and beautiful woman who works there as I know nothing about these things and my Polish is limited too. I will get an eye mask and they had a whole massive section of BB cream, I have the Maybelline one at the moment but thought I would get some of that too. Keep the suggestions coming..thanks

def Etude House Face Blur if they have it, it's lovely.

Skinfood (or whatever brand they have, it's a simple recipe) Rice Wash Off Mask or the cleanser.

coconutwater1 · 10/08/2017 11:39

Forgot TonyMahoney (or something like that) lipsticks

Goldenhedgehogs · 10/08/2017 11:40

coconut thank you so much, I am feeling prepared now. I have to go and do the dutiful family boat trip but I am in there tonight with a list. I will take photos of purchases. I knew I could rely on you guys, thanks so much

Skinfood also do an egg white pore cleanser, that's really good. And I second the face masks that go on like...well, a mask that makes you look like Hannibal!

If you can get anything that has Jeju volcanic lava in it (I used to use an exflolistor) pick it up! Also hand balms are generally all fab.

Does anyone know any Korean shops in UK?

Beadieeye · 11/08/2017 02:04

Does anyone know if any of the Korean branded skincare/beauty stuff currently in TKmaxx is any good? Or legit?

coconutwater1 · 11/08/2017 02:48

You can get some Korean brands on Amazon, but usually quite expensive to what you would pay in Asia.

Sure the stuff in TKmaxx is the real deal, but when I have bough other cosmeticy they are old stock and past there best.

I go to Japan quite a lot and stock up on mostly Japanese cosmetics and skin care. Go armed in the excellent drugstores with my list and usually a picture on my Ipad (as I dont read Japanese) to make sure Im getting the right thing. Big brands we pay a lot for are excellent value, and the likes of the Shiseido shampoo is such a great price.

Had some misses but not many, mainly with foundation and some lipsticks, but other than that all great.

Watching all the Chinese ladies (also armed with thier lists) swarm around the drugstores can get a bit scary, whooooosh, empty shelves and no vitamin tablets left either!

coconutwater1 · 11/08/2017 02:51

Oh Golden, forgot to add if you see Pure Source face masks try a couple of them, they tend to be at the less expensive end of the range but good fun to try the snake venom one!

SomeOtherFuckers · 11/08/2017 07:57

I usually buy my Korean/Japanese stuff from YesStyle.com.
Free UK shipping over a certain amount (24£ish) and if you check that it's ' ready to dispatch in 24 hours' then it can reach you in a week x

HarrietKettleWasHere · 11/08/2017 08:06
