I really wish I'd asked her where she got them, but i didnt... and then she was gone. I can't stop thinking about them. I need them.

Gold colour brogues - a really beautiful, dull, old gold colour. And the sole was almost trainerish but still smart enough for work (I'm a teacher). Slightly built up, I guess.

They looked expensive and comfortable.

Any ideas?

I have a pair of Cole Haan zerogrand wingtip Oxfords that fit your description. It's a us brand, mine are great suede with candy pink trainer soles and places, super comfortable, also comes in faded gold and loads of other colors, look at Amazon or the cole Haan website (although no gold there any more).

I'm thrilled these seem to be 'a thing' and I'm going to have to go shopping because I have crazy wide feet, and no tolerance for uncomfortable shoes. I'll need to try some one.

OMG so many beautiful shoes. Am drooling at some of these.

I live overseas though. Would I be really stupid to order some and have them delivered, knowing it would be difficult to return? It would, wouldn't it. I'm going to have to go shopping.

I have the M&S ones in tan and also blue, they are really comfy and I get loads of compliments on them
Not all brogues ARE comfy though, I have some gorgeous sea salt red ones that shred my feet
