Rub a drop or two of tea tree oil on your feet before you put shoes on without socks. It's antibacterial so stops the smelly bugs before they can start.
Might not work with already smelly shoes but it's kept all mine whiff free since I started doing it (and the ones before were totally pongy!!)

I washed mine a couple of times and left them to dry in the sun. Some of the cork did loosen a bit, but it was generally successful. I chucked after 2 summers As they were very smelly.

I've washed mine a few times on a delicates wash on 30 degrees they are fine.

Caution - I scrubbed mine with persil and antibac and they have never been the same. The inside sole is really rough and uncomfortable. I am really surprised that people have put them in the machine successfully.
