At the moment , my hair is short (as in cropped round my ears/neck and 2" on the top layers)

I have no colour in it. My hair is dark brown with maybe 30% grey.

In the past couple of years I've gone from one length bob (dyed chestnutty brown) to short. I went lighter in stages , then decided I might grow my hair so cropped out the dye and used henna.
I went darker with henna until I cropped it out and I'm now as I am.

I do my own dye, I have not the money , patience or wherewithal to sit in a salon. I have it cut every 5 weeks (dry cut)

The reason I stopped dye was I compromised the condition ( I blame too many highlights TBH) and after 2 weeks the roots came through.

Should I go for it again? Dye not henna. I loved how henna made my hair feel but it is a faff and my hair wasn't all glossy shiney as I hoped.

I want dark auburn, nothing mad crazy.
I have Celtic skin, brown eyes.

Shall I ? Lifes too short to be bored with my hair , yes?

theres a looonng Henna Thread on here (I bumped it last week) about Lush henna which I used for a good few months. Lush is part henna/part conditioner so it does make the hair feel softer than box dye but I never got the mirror shine that others got , though my hair is wavy and porous due to the grey.
It needs mixing, melting, applying (I need DD to help with the back/sides), it needs to be wrapped in clingfilm+turban (so I can't wear my glasses)

And because its natural, you can never be 100% certain of the outcome plus it oxidisies and darkens.

I grew out my dye then grew out my henna (through cutting) but now my hair is 'natural' I'm Hmm

I have before pics. I'll buy a dye on Friday and post "After" pics.

No crazy colours, I'm 51 and an HCP so it wouldn't be a good look for me !
