I have a couple of Seasalt striped ones, but am looking for something plain. Sleeves can be short, elbow or 3/4. Definitely not sleeveless. Grey, white, black, navy, bottle green, burgundy, dark purple.

It has to cover the lower tum, ideally to the bottom of the fly.

Shirts don't suit me, they hang off my boobs and make me look fatter than I am (size 16). Everything in Pepperberry is too short.

I want something that will last, I have five H&M t-shirts that after a month are ready for the bin.

Over to you!

I've had a few nice tops in the Hobbs sale recently. Overpriced at full price but manageable at sale prices.

I am 49, size 14, DD boobs and a tum, so I need shape - square short tops hang off me and look horrible. I also don't like 'tunics' (never sure what they are supposed to be) as they sit wide on the hips and again are too shapeless.

I'm not keen on double fronted though (those Boden ones) as I tend to find the neckline rolls and looks untidy. Best shape for me is wrap style or drape neck.

I can't advise as I'm seeking the same thing as you, but just wanted to add a word of caution re Warehouse. Their tops come up SO short. I ordered £70 worth of t shirts / tops that looked amazing on the website. They all arrived and were about two inches shorter than I expected. I thought I could get away with it so kept them. Without exception, they shrunk by another inch in the wash Angry

EvelynWardrobe · 01/08/2017 15:28

Thanks for that cautionary tale. The H&M ones I bought were lovely, AND a decent length, but they've lost their shape entirely, even on a 30 degree wash.

I am glad you posted this. I am short and skinny with massive boobs. I have spent a whole morning shopping and only managed some new bras.

Monstersincq · 01/08/2017 15:48

ASOS forever t shirts! Can't comment on their durability but really flattering simple and cheap.

SpicedGingerTea · 01/08/2017 16:26

I'm the same. I love the 3/4 sleeve bretons at seasalt, but really wish they did them in plain colours,...... I cannot find any other tops that suit me or that I like!

nina2b · 01/08/2017 18:20

I have 2 Breton-style long sleeved t shirts from Warehouse which are a longer length and a nice thick cotton.
This is one of them:

This one is currently in stock:

This one looks long:

Joules harbour tops? Some are classic fit and others slightly tighter fit so try a few

nina2b · 01/08/2017 18:26

Joules' sizing is erratic...

nina2b · 01/08/2017 18:28

Sorry! You want plain! Oops.

alifemoreorlessordinary · 01/08/2017 18:30

i got some nice "t shirts" from Fat Face , slightly stretchy, V neck, slightly fitted, just past hip length (5ft 4"), short sleeves, I bought 3 in different colours

anchor9 · 02/08/2017 11:24

Actually, the Boden ones I wore when I was pregnant, I just bought a size up! Lived in them! I'm 5'3.

Volontaire · 02/08/2017 11:31

Best quality at the most reasonable price is Petit Bateau. Sizing is not generous, but fairly accurate. Lovely thick cotton.

EvelynWardrobe · 04/08/2017 08:24

I'm reporting back to say that Long Tall Sally has been a revelation! The M is a perfect fit! Thanks @Ollivander84. Hopefully they'll wash well.

The Boden ones (even though they say 'low hip') were too short.

I have this too - am only 5'4" but EVERYTHING is too short. I'm slightly long in the body but not excessively so. It's so annoying. Never thought to try a tall range. Will give it a go.

And yes to Warehouse being ridiculously boxy fit. And their viscose shrinks horrifically. However I do have two of the tops that a pp linked to (green stripe) and they are a great length and wash really well. 100% cotton too.
