I reckon trainer socks will go in them. I look grotty in shorts BUT on a hot day in my own garden I don't care.

no, the sort of socks you can't see. Will wear them bare foot if I can't find appropriate socks.

even better. And at only 12 quid you could just chuck them if (when in my case) they got pongy.
