Nipped to TK Maxx this afternoon and lucked out with bargains Grin I've not bought anything bar a Primark vest or T for ages so I am super excited to be the proud owner of a cream cotton cable knit Ralph Lauren jumper, a gorgeous soft white Ralph Lauren shirt, skinny pale wash denim cK jeans and random French brand white jeans and a fab pair of mirror sunglasses which are not a designer brand but the till lady gave me a fancy designer case for them free Grin chuffed!

What have you been buying? The weather is so pants there seems no point in summer clothes Confused

Also.

Breton top, layering shirt, casual tshirt and luxe joggers (all me+em sale)
Ash Jalouse boots (ash sale)
Hush harems in black
gold sam edelman boots
Boden Isadora broderie dress (it's beautiful)
Boden Florence jacket.

It is loads isn't it! I had a huge clear out and I now have no tops. Plus the joggers are to get me through until I fit my jeans again.

I have far too many jumpers!

WinifredAtwellsOtherPiano · 30/07/2017 08:32

I'm having a splurge at the moment. I have been spending a lot of time in a posh area for work with a bit of time to kill at lunchtime to scour the sales and the charity shops.

So I've got a black slouchy Jigsaw dress from the sale (may hit the chazzas again to get a suitable belt to make it less casual and more work appropriate).

Work top from Jigsaw sale.

Gorgeous duck egg Reiss T shirt in the sale - would never in a million years pay the original fifty quid for a viscose T shirt but at the sale price it's fine.

Hobbs linen dress lined with cotton voile, quite casual with pockets but a perfect "throw it on and go" shape and a good weight for British summer. It came from one of the Mary Portas gentrified charity shops so it cost twenty five pounds which is a lot, but on the other hand the charity will make good use of the money, and it's still enough of a bargain that I'll throw it on for everyday wear and going to the beach. I'd never have bought it full price, or even sale price.

Punk band Top Shop backless and knotted T shirt from Oxfam. I originally got this with DD in mind but I think she may have to fight me for it because it's great on me, and I remember them from first time around.

Am coming out of the fug of pregnancy, breastfeeding, taking ages (or maybe just normal non celebrity normal time ) to get into shape, so with the realisation that lots of my wardrobe just doesn't fit or is rightly out of style, I m slowly trying to get a new wardrobe together, so it s a long list

2x hush dresses
Pampelone clothing white summer top
Silk shirt x2 (roasemund)
Lily and Lionel shirt and scarf
Mango jeans x2 (black and blue)
Grey Nike trainers
Mango t shirts x2 and silky Cami
Wedge espadrille sandals
Kooples suit trousers

Floisme · 30/07/2017 09:39

Lovely blouse silkpyjamas It's a great feeling when you stalk something and finally land it.

I've been trying to buy mostly second hand while saving up an autumn stash but I've already made a dent in it:
Cropped wide legs from Toast (link has gone - sorry) which I think I've worn every day since they arrived. They're a very thick, soft cotton so should do a job well into the autumn.

Then I idly clicked on a coat thread and before I knew it, I'd sent for this - possibly the only known sighting of a trenchcoat that actually keeps off the rain. Arriving tomorrow!

And I finally spent the end of last year's birthday money - combined with an early present for my next birthday - in the Vivienne Westwood sale. It's not even my birthday for about 6 weeks so it feels wrong to be talking about it but one of her tailored jackets (which I've always hankered after) and some slightly out-there but, I think, bloody great trousers. Both less than half price Smile

Plus a few second hand beauties, including;
Some wide leg pin stripe trousers in a very fine wool. The main label had annoyingly been cut off but made in Italy.
A Zara jersey blazer in dark green. 85% cotton which just shows how quality has plummeted recently. I've changed the buttons - which cost more than the jacket did.
And a full length Edinburgh Wool Mill kilt which is absolutely splendid. I admit I haven't quite finished figuring out how to wear it yet but I'm going for a Barbara Woodhouse on drugs effect.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/07/2017 10:14

YOU GOT A WESTWOOD JACKET, FLO?! I'm so excited for you. Link! Link! Link!

Sadik · 30/07/2017 10:26

I want to see the Westwood jacket too, Flo! In another life I would live in a city, be at least 5' 10" tall, and live in her clothes.

However, in real life, I have recently bought 2 pairs of these Patagonia capris which are surprisingly nice. I got the first pair for work but then got a 2nd pair to keep clean & tidy, and they've been the most admired item of clothing I've bought for ages.

And then these trainers for slopping around at weekends which are insanely comfy and rather sweet.

Floisme · 30/07/2017 10:40

Thank you. And well if you insist.... Grin

Tailored jacket It was the last in the shop so meant to be.

and these trousers which are scarily named and look a bit extreme but once I'd tried them on, I didn't want to take them off. My husband, who is not known for sugar coating his opinions, said they 'look good'.

And although they're in the summer sale, they're wool and really very autumnal.

WinifredAtwellsOtherPiano · 30/07/2017 10:48

Gosh that is lovely Flo, and a great price. Tempted to dash to Libertys/Selfridges to see if they've got it in.

I've fallen in love with this jacket from Reiss
www.reiss.com/p/tailored-jacket-womens-turlington-jacket-in-grey/ but couldn't find the matching trousers in my size so I didn't think it was worth getting on its own.

Floisme · 30/07/2017 10:52

Go Winifred their sale ends today so if they do have it still, it might come down even further.

Sadik · 30/07/2017 11:12

Those are absolutely gorgeous Flo. I am Envy

Floisme · 30/07/2017 11:29

Thank you Sadik It's been an unexpected bonus of turning 60 - people give you money and tell you to buy nice things Grin It's taken me nearly a year to spend it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/07/2017 12:52

Gorgeous jacket, Flo - and an absolute bargain.

TK Maxx had VW silk shirts in yesterday, but sadly not in my size. :(

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 30/07/2017 12:57

I got this [[http://www.stories.com/gb/Ready-to-wear/Tops/Blouses_Shirts/Starry_Sky_Top/114066402-0511822003.2 star print top][ the other week. Love the print, but not sure the shape suits me. Tag's still in...

I'm going to London next week, and will be making my annual uniqlo pilgrimage while I'm there. I love the merino jumpers, and my grey one's got a coffee stain on it so needs replacing.

Gah81 · 30/07/2017 15:22

Grey tweed cape (Sands and Hall) and a long black (super slinky) '30s backless gown.

God, I would love to go on a proper splurge - adore that feeling of unpacking all your purchases - but I have a fair few clothes already so cannot justify buying tons ever!

emilybrontescorset · 30/07/2017 15:24

I've bought lovely navy and white sundress from eBay and a maxi dress from eBay too.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/07/2017 15:28

Screw - love that.

Floisme · 30/07/2017 15:39

Lovely top, Screw.

Gah - love the sound of your cape and dress - any links or photos? I'm eyeing up a second hand Aquascutum cape - reversible.

BusterGonad · 30/07/2017 17:50

I've just bought a dress from Oasis for £15, I have the black version and like Maud had my eye on the other colour but couldn't justify buying it, so when it got reduced I snapped it up! The problem is that it's slightly smaller in size than my other one but I'll get it to fit....somehow!

What clothes have you bought lately?
Gah81 · 30/07/2017 19:55

The cape is here (not the same colours though) sandsandhall.com/product-category/aw-2017-2018-collection/fitted-cape-preorder/

My one purchase in the sales! Gorgeous. And sadly/happily I have already been able to wear it (thank you, British summer!)

Theycalledmethewildrose · 30/07/2017 22:09

Im trying not to look at this thread as I have......wait for it.......quit my job to stay at home with my kids but I have to admire the beautiful clothes bought. That cape and as for the VW trousers and jacket

Floisme · 30/07/2017 22:33

That looks amazing Gah - you really have some great clothes.

Lanaorana2 · 30/07/2017 22:39

Flo your Vivs are amazeballs, you'll wear them endlessly. Beeyootiful.

slinkysaluki · 30/07/2017 22:52
