HELP - I'm out and just realised I look horrendous, what do I do?

Already on my way to a rare night out (early start) and wearing a nice pink sequin top with a black leather jacket, very plain black bootleg trousers and very very plain bland flats (nearly broke an ankle in heels last time so avoiding). I'm also mid 30's and rotund so no being svelte enough to carry off a bin bag! In my head the outfit was understated, looking at myself now it looks like I got dressed up on top then dressed for work on the bottom, do I just go home now??? Plus my hair is a state because of the wind but least of my probs right now.

You probably look much better than you think. At least convince yourself that you do and that will be half the battle! Fix your hair when you get indoors, a squirt of expensive perfume if you have it or you're passing a shop with same, bit of lippy, big confident smile and there you go: you look a million dollars! Trust me.

Just brazen it out, I've been out straight from work with no pre planning, I once went out straight from a day at the football in my hoody and jeans (not skinny jeans) and some borrowed ballet pumps as I wouldn't be allowed in in trainers. Just be confident, have a couple of drinks and give no fucks what others think.

Your outfit sounds great, OP

Take yourself to the nearest ladies, even if you have to finger comb your hair, it'll give you some confidence. Fresh coat of lippy and as Cruciatus said, find somewhere if you can for a spritz of event

No don't go home! You've made all this effort you should go out and enjoy yourself.

What you've described sounds like a nice outfit, and hair can always be fixed in the loo when you get there.

If you are really unhappy, have time and are near some shops you could go for a pair of wedges that would dress the outfit up more but wouldn't risk your feet.

Have a lovely time and try not to worry. I'm sure a few drinks you'll be having a good time you won't care anyway.Smile

Thanks everyone, feeling a bit more confident now! Not sure about my hair, I can never do much with it in the first place but it's clean at least Grin Am wearing fab perfume, the only thing I know I can wear right so pleased about that!
