This weekend I will be let loose in civilisation, able to buy clothes to fit me, and also the ability to buy the latest fashion! I have been out of the loop for the last 12 months living in a country that does not cater to a woman over the size of a 12 year old. If you had the choice of purchasing any clothing right now what would you buy. I need to buy everything you can imagine - trousers, dresses, skirts, tops. I need names of shops, prices and pictures if possible. Also shoes, boots and accessories. Looking ahead to spring and summer. I am a size 12 on top, and a 12 maybe 14 on the bottom. Thanks in advance ladies. I have no access to magazines etc, so have no clue at all what is out there!!!

you could book in to john lewis personal shopping? they are fab and will show you a range of items in all price ranges

if it were me:

great jeans fro french connection
good t shirts from white company
good cardi from whistles sale/tesco cashmere range
ballet pumps from new look

hope that helps!

nickytwotimes · 28/03/2007 10:32

newgirl, she only has 100 quid! not 1000!
anthea, like me, you are not blessed with the budget of newy and therefore may i suggest some roma jeans from markies - variety of styles and nice fit for 25 - 30 quid

nickytwotimes · 28/03/2007 10:34

btw, newy, the cardi and pumps were good

KittyLetteMeEatAnEasterEgg · 28/03/2007 10:34

newgirl · 28/03/2007 10:43

how about jeans from new look? mine were 28 quid and fit me fine, well no one laughs as i walk by

MuckyAnthea · 28/03/2007 11:44

Well I did say 100 quid or SO.....
I can spend more, so please go mad and tell me your fantasy clothes shopping trip.
Basically - I need everything. Will I suit ballet pumps being a short arse? What is the White company?
Thanks so much for the tips so far!

ah the white company!!! such joys to be discovered! have a look at the website - there is a link on mumsnet

they do a great sale too so look out for that

mainly house and kids stuff but lovely t-shirts and tops for beautiful mums - i think t shirts are about 14 quid but great quality

ballet pumps - well at 12-18 quid a pair in new look its worth a go!! don't think height is a prob, especially if you wear them with jeans

ps whistles sale is on!!

i would go for decent underwear. i feel so much nicer whatever i'm wearing if i've got posh underwear on too. i would go for,

wide leg linen trousers, in white maybe?, or beige?

comfy pair of flip flops
