It's £60

I'm going on a short holiday to Rome, sans kids with DH

If its the one I think it is I wouldn't bother.
I bought one of their fitted wrap around tops and had to send it back, the ties are long and HUGE and annoyed me so much I could not them (all too much faff).
You can get them on ebay but I didnt personally just like the design...

ceolas · 26/03/2007 23:13

HUGE, really?

Anyone else got one?

I loved their wrap dress, still wear it. Trousers were a shocker, they went all baggy. So it would be 50/50 from me... but other friends have been very happy with their stuff.

Buy it, send it back if it's too big?

hoxtonchick · 26/03/2007 23:15

i didn't like the design at ALL. it always gaped. better with a camisole underneath but still not worth it.

ceolas · 26/03/2007 23:16

Think it's the ties of the wrap panacotta says were huge.

And my god, delivery is £5!

can't comment on design- but do spash out if it;s nice.

One thing you can say about a pregnancy wardrobe - you certainly get the wear out of it. I got so sick of my overstreched bobbly cheapo maternity gear.

yomellamoHelly · 26/03/2007 23:29

Bought some Isabella Oliver stuff and thought it was FAB! Def. recommend you invest in some. I felt fab in mine - not bad considering how much I resembled a whale.
Had the cowl neck top, scoop neck top and kimono wrap top and the wrap dress. All were really flattering and I have worn them since on occasion 'cause I still love 'em so much. The only thing I got which wasn't so ace (purely because it was so huge) was the wrap cardie, but it was still lovely and warm, drpaed wel etc. etc.....
Go for it I say. It's hard to find things that make you look good when you're preggers.

incy · 27/03/2007 08:52

I have bought a lot of their tops (including the wrap top) and think they are brilliant - have worn them constantly for 5 months now. Would agree with littleEL that the trousers were not for me (looked a bit like leggings but expensive ones at £80 !) but also love the wrap dress, scoop neck tops and vest tops.

The wrap tops are designed a bit like a sari - you have a short top part with sleeves which you put on and then there are big ties which you wrap round and round your body and tie at the bottom - this is very useful as when you expand over 9 months the top still fits to perfection.

I have two of them and wear them all the time. They are not as cheap as other stores but they have washed and worn very well and you can't always say that with maternity clothes.

ceolas · 27/03/2007 09:23

OK I'm convinced!

Forgot to say that easy returns if you don't like it anyway. Just send the item back in the packaging it was sent in (minus the big box) - there is a free returns label. Good luck.

MrsBadger · 27/03/2007 10:05

or get one on ebay
picchu have some of last seasons stock on v cheap

PrincessPeaHead · 27/03/2007 10:08

Yes, definitely. The Isabella Oliver stuff I had in pregnancy I sold for about 60 - 75% of the original price on ebay afterwards. Should have bought more!.

Go for it!

KathyMCMLXXII · 27/03/2007 10:09

Oh god, I hated the wrap top - it would never stay put on me and I hated having a knot.
All my other Isabella Oliver stuff was great though - the ruched t shirts are lovely. The white is a bit see-through though, if you don't want to wear anything under it.

newgirl · 27/03/2007 10:51

the scoop/boatneck neck one they do with the ruched sides in black is lovely lovely lovely - and I sold mine afterwards on ebay so cost me say 20 in the end for loads of wear

Pannacotta · 27/03/2007 19:56

I agree with the others that Is Oliver stuff holds its value well.
I like the two wrap dresses I bought (one on ebay, one in the sale), both flattering.
I just hated the design of the wrap top.
It is such a faff to put on as you have to keep wrapping the unwieldy ties around your bump and I could not do it without my pregnant flesh showing through at the holes at the sides, so I sent it back.
Do think it is overpriced if no discount offered, so ebay worth a try. Though you can recoup a fair amount if/when you sell it on.
I just think the wrap top is only for the patient among us and not for those with curious toddler and/or cats - both my DS and cats fascinated by the wraps and chased them around the room, all mildy hysterical but no help in getting dressed!!

Tutter · 27/03/2007 19:57

i bid on one on ebay last week but lost

there's quite a lot of IO stuff on there

MrsBadger · 27/03/2007 20:16

I ended up bidding against someone else from the Aug antenatal thread on a Formes top - don't think she recognised me though .

Did get a rather good Blooming Marvellous linen dress for a tenner though - soooo comfy.

hoxtonchick · 28/03/2007 11:45

i loved the other io stuff i had (wore 1 pair of trousers from 6 weeks - 2nd pg! - to post-partum), but really, that wrap top is the work of the devil .

ceolas · 28/03/2007 11:57

Oh god, wrap top is ordered.

I will reposrt back. Thankfully no cats or toddlers who would be bothered with it

OP posts:
ceolas · 31/03/2007 08:37

Well it's arrived. Think it's going to take some practice! The ties are indeed HUGE!

OP posts:
OrvilleRedenbacher · 31/03/2007 08:38

go on

ceolas · 31/03/2007 08:40

Well the actual top bit stops halfway up your back. You have to then wrap yourself up in the ties, which are about 1.5m long each.

OP posts:
OrvilleRedenbacher · 31/03/2007 08:51

oh god

ceolas · 31/03/2007 08:52

And I am a bit worried that when I do, and I bend over, the layers will part, revealling flesh
