WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, WEEK SIX already

I cannot believe it's week six of the second run at this of the year. So anyone who was in from the beginning this is week 12 really.

Anyone can join and once this finishes I'll be starting another.

The 10yy rules are:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

ok I'd like to join in please - I am trying to be good as I have a wedding to go to at Easter...

  • Sunscreen - must try harder with this
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it - this will be the hardest bit, I usually have a couple of glasses a night
  • Walking is important - does going to the gym count?
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day - porbably manage 1 litre, so will try harder with this
  • Apply body cream as often as possible - started to do this daily about a week ago
  • Use hand cream - quite good at this
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos - no problem but I often wake in the wee small hours
  • Eat healthily - am cutting out carbs in the evening, eating nuts and fruit for snacks
  • Be happy

Lizzer · 26/03/2007 22:37

Hello! Haven't been online for ages but my diet, exercise, water and cream have been good and I'm starting to notice a massive difference in my mood, skin and appetite levels (bar a chinese takeaway last night )
I've been feeling sooooo good (you were all right about feeling worse before feeling better) This is week 3 for me and I was on top of the world (even had a bit of a heavy night on sat but walked for miles yesterday without a hint of a hangover)
However I weighed myself today and I put on a pound so I ate biscuits to cheer me up and I HATE the fact that I DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!
Going to bed after this, must try harder and cut down on fat I think...too many rich dressings with all those salads methinks...Perhaps the extra pound was all those prawn crackers....
Good luck everybody and thanks for all your support last week, I really needed it

winnie · 27/03/2007 09:39

there is something wrong with me I cannot face eating breakfast lately which is not good (and no I do not think I am pregnant)... I know I will be "starving" by 11.

Iota · 27/03/2007 18:12

The kitchen is back up and running, so made a huge Sunday roast at the weekend

Pilates today - am definitely toning up but don't seem to be losing weight - I think I need to add in some calorie burning exercise.

I'm drinking more water again - not out of the toilet bowl Lizzer or the hand basin for that matter.

Happiness high - dh is at home for a couple of days... and did I mention my new kitchen is up and running again

WideWebWitch · 27/03/2007 19:39

Batters, is that first time EVER you've done a link? (road tax? eh? and then I found right one!)

Iota, hmm, well, hmm

Lizzer, glad you're feeling better

dingdong, welcome!

Winnie, that sounds great, well done, wow, 13 days

Me
Granola
3 apples
chicken and veg roll, 380 cals
2 guylian chocs, vile but I was starving (before roll but after apple)
and about to have cod wrapped in proscuitto, garlic etc
and no wine last night but have a glass now after stressful day (crap hey?)
No walking MUST do it tomorrow but had meetings at lunchtime so no time.

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 27/03/2007 19:42

Being reasonably good. Healthy meals and lots of water but the wine is still letting me down. However, I have now stopped the crisp and nut habit that went with it.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 27/03/2007 20:02

bad day

had fruit for breakfast, on a course so had pasta (not much) garlic bread, potato wedges and carrot cake for lunch - yes, that was what they served us and have had soem nuts tonight, proper nuts though, not salty ones, and a glass of pinot grigio as the course was heavy going...no gym either

I'm still here. Can't believe it's week 6 already.

Last week was a complete disaster - ate my bodyweight in junk and drank every night.

I am back on track now though and have exercised the last 3 days and not had junk at all.

Not that the scales are registering this of course.

Still failing on the sunscreen though.

swedishmum · 29/03/2007 08:30

I've started walking the dog - it's a 2 mile trip round the field behind our house - don't know why I didn't do it before really. I think the improved weather helps. I still can't kick my toast habit though.

Right, well, the less said about this week from my pov the better I think.

Went out last night and had PE American Hot, garlic bread, banoffee pie. But only one glass of wine as I was driving.

And no wine the night before and not too bad on the food front. I've been falling down on:

A) Walking, haven't taken my lunch breaks this week
B) picking. People have had cakes at work and I've bloody well been eating them

Oh well, next week is a brand new WEEK 1! Will start a thread tonight or Sat

swedishmum · 30/03/2007 15:45

I've bought some no. 7 foundation (free voucher) that guarantees to make me look 5 years younger and had 3 cups of green tea yesterday (saintly emoticon) - glad it's time for a new start.
