What colours to add in to dark brown and silver hair?

Okay... So I ditched the hair dye and am ever grateful for that. I love other people's dyed hair but don't have patience for the upkeep of my own nor tolerance of root growth. It is shoulder length with a gentle wave, sometimes coaxed into loose curls.

I keep wanting to dye it for something different but know I will regret it. Could I add in some streaks of colour or do a dip on the ends or balayage? Any ideas what to do or not to do please? Just fancy a change!

As long as you have a good hairdresser that you trust you can do anything!

Dip dye or balayage is low maintenance so go for that!

Lilacs and pastels in general go great with natural grey ;)

Ta! I had been wondering about pastel shades. Are there are semi permanent dyes which will fade nicely and leave little colour eventually? With a lilac or similar I guess it would blend in better (?).

Any blue / purple based will do that! Loreal just launched a line called "colorista" I haven't tried it myself but I think that's your best choice 9as the one you can buy in shops tend to be ore diluted than the professional ones).
