What sort of style? I'd guess these are more than you'd want to spend?

JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:04

Not sure about these - depends on the rest of your style, I guess.

skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:05

not really bothered about price, but they are a bit 'moccasin' like for me...love the colour though

Hmm - how about these ? Or this pair or these ?

skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:08

and the 2nd pair are a bit clumpy

faith ones are a bit more like it, but trying to move away from the whole ballet pump thing...don't even know what i'm after...may have to try boden!

jackie...are you the 'new' mrsB?!?!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:14

Gosh no. I'm just a humble junior in the Style Shop. MrsB is definitely The Boss.

I guess these are too ballet flat-like, then? (also only for the very slim of ankle, I'd think). Or these the same, probably.

skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:17

oohh..quite like the slingbacks...the other ones are just hideous!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:18

Weird idea having 2 ankle straps.

How about these ? Bit officey, or is that what you want them for?

skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:18

and the mushroom colour looks very nice too...though not ever seen mushrooms in that colour...bargain at £35 too!

OP posts:
skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:19

don't work so just want them for slipping on with jeans...something other than converse or ballet pumps until its warm enough to wear flip flops!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:21

OK. Yes, I liked the mushroom colour too.

Are these too pointy?

skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:21

jackie...you could be knocking mrsB off top spot!

OP posts:
skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:22

have pointy ones like that

JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:24

Not a chance - she's much better than me at this. I'm not too bad with finding just one thing, but if you want all-round advice, capsule wardrobes etc, she's your woman.

I'm guessing these are too clumpy then?

skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:28

yep, too clumpy

god, i must just sound really lazy as if i can't be bothered to trawl internet myself!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:28

You did say Boden , didn't you.

skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:29

cos everyone here seems to shop at boden...i would feel like i'd nicked my mums shoes if i wore those!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:31

Hmm - know what you mean.

Have you tried wedges? Although obviously not flat, they're really comfortable. I just spotted these which reminded me about wedges in general (though I'm not sure I like those actual ones). Or more slingbacks - again, not completely flat. (ooh, going a bit off-message now, aren't it).

JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:32

That should be 'aren't I', obviously.

JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:33

I know you don't want ballet flat ones, but these look really cute.

JackieNo · 23/03/2007 22:37

Brogue style courts ?

skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:38

i love wedges, but can't quite get my head around closed top ones, or shoe wedges rather, much prefer sandal-type ones...

love the other slingbacks, might be a bit dressy for dashing to the post office though

OP posts:
skirmish · 23/03/2007 22:39

the oasis ones would look gorgeous with a pair of wide leg trousers...but thats a whole other style thread!
