When you're just too much of a sap to put yourself through bikini waxes, or epilators.......

Is there another alternative? I've tried so many options, paracetomol/ibrop before, taut skin, working out re time of the month, and still the pain is ridiculous. I've delivered two whopping kids, fallen off horses and broken many bones, but still, I can't fathom the enthusiasm to put myself through waxing again.
Is there another alternative that I'm missing? The good old razor has been my friend previously, and may well go back to that...

Just don't bother

It's very freeing

What's gonna happen if you have a bit of hair ?

carrie74 · 05/07/2017 21:53

I invested in a home IPL machine, keep the majority trimmed using a bikini trimmer, then a few years ago zapped the bikini line area to keep the worst in bay. Not used it for about 18 months, but the hairs around the periphery (and my legs, pits and tache which I also zapped) have largely given up the ghost, and I get hardly any regrowth. Best investment ever!!

Chicinwellies · 05/07/2017 23:40

Ooh, was it painful?

Razor. 30sec in shower, done. And when (and only when!) I want to. In the winter if I'm not swimming why bother?

sodablackcurrant · 05/07/2017 23:46

Why are you thinking of this.

If it is for sex or something, they will get over it and sometimes enjoy it.

Try to live for yourself. I guess men go through all this every day too don't they. LOL. Nah they will never put up with the pain.

Forget it. Seriously and question why you would.

MyKingdomForBrie · 05/07/2017 23:48

carrie which machine?

Lanaa · 06/07/2017 06:46

Hair removal cream. The nair one with baby oil is good - it's only a pound too. Be careful not to get it into sensitive bits and wash off at the first sign of a tingle. It works incredibly well.

nbee84 · 06/07/2017 07:02

I've got a smoothskin gold ipl machine. Fantastic results. No pain with most zapping, slightly uncomfortable in places but nowhere near the pain of epilating or waxing.

annandale · 06/07/2017 07:12

I shave my face and throat twice a day because that does bother me. I'm sure I'm deluding myself that it looks fine, but it's cheap and my skin is in terrific condition. Below the neck i don't really bother or care though i will admit to relatively light coloured hair, also do shave shins and feet in the summer occasionally.

PollyPerky · 06/07/2017 07:38

I tidy the edges with a razor and only rarely even then. It's not as if it's on show and I have no desire to be bald down there.

Unicorn81 · 06/07/2017 21:20

Nair but be careful where you put it

WanderingTrolley1 · 06/07/2017 21:21

Razor.

CJCreggsGoldfish · 06/07/2017 21:23

I've got a Philips lumea - fab results and no pain!

Intransige · 06/07/2017 21:34

I gave up. Every single option I've tried results in ingrown hairs or a rash or both. So I just wear a boy leg swimming costume and get on with life. So much easier.

Pop24 · 06/07/2017 21:40

Agree. Boy leg swimsuit. Done. Its not actually good for you to remove hair down there. It has a function in sexual attraction and as a protective barrier to infection. Not to mention the awful ingrown hairs. I wish society would stop being obsessed that people do.

user1493202565 · 06/07/2017 22:17

You can use Emla cream to numb the area before you wax/epilate but please do research if its safe to use long term. I only used it once before the first time I epilated and it worked perfectly.
