What to wear clubbing in Ibiza when you're nearly 40?!

I'm off to Ibiza for a friend's 40th in September & am vvvvv excited. However wardrobe choices are causing me a headache. We're there for 2 nights, out for dinner & drinks one night & then taking on one of the big clubs the other night. I'd really like something nice & dressy to wear out on the club night as I don't get to dress up much when going out these days. I was thinking some kind of dress/ playsuit type affair but can't seem to find anything that isn't either super casual or makes you look like a hooker...

Has anyone got any suggestions for where I should try looking - happy to pay a reasonable amount for it but don't want to go silly as probably won't wear it much back home. Have tried all the usual suspects - Whistles, Next, Topshop, Zara

Mango, Warehouse and Oasis are my go-tos for non-hooker dressy-ware!

If I were going I'd probably be looking at some fitted patterned shorts with a strap style top and wedges.

Thanks dancingqueen I'll have a look & see what I can find there. Hadn't thought of shorts but that's a good idea as I might wear them a bit more afterwards as well.

I have to look up their exact name again but Ukrainian embroidered dresses may be a thing to look at. Vita Kin is currently selling them for squillions but the originals are available on eBay for very little money. Attached pic is Vita Kin, it screams Ibiza to me but that may mean others would be wearing them too and you'd have to have a bit of height to you.

Wore a gold playsuit from Topshop for precisely the same event last September... more flattering than it sounds. Make sure legs are brown! And flat sandals you don't mind getting trashed... have fun!

Topshop white embroidery playsuit with gold sandals and big hoop gold earrings for the clubbing bit? Bit more tasteful than a gold playsuit and you might wear it again?

What size are you? I've got a black French Connection tailored playsuit upstairs if you want it? Think black tuxedo turned into a playsuit. Though maybe not casual enough for summer in Ibiza!

motelrocks have some gorgeous sequin skirts on. there is a nice vero moda one on the.lipsy site too.

All saints did sequin mini and pencil skirts which are perfect for this sort of thing, and you can wear with tights in winter in the uk too if you go for one of the more muted colours/patterns, some are more expensive than others but there are a hell of a lot of them on eBay currently. I just searched 'all saints sequin skirt'

I have one, and so does my DM they are fantastic quality, but quite heavy although you don't feel this when they are on. Bonus with sequins is that any spilt drinks don't ruin your outfit by showing or staining. They would look good with a variety of tops and colours. I have tried to attach some screenshots of some.

Sequin skirts look fab with tights and a biker jacket in winter too.

Lovely dress! I wore the shorts I posted above from asos with a black cami and black heels. Don't be surprised to see lots of 90's style fashion amongst the younger crowd...there were lots of crop tops and shorts about! I'm jealous you still get to go, had a great time and can't wait to go back 😄
