Sandal Suggestions

Tomorrow I'm escaping the small town and will be in reach of some decent shoe shops. and I need some sandals. I drew a big fat blank in Clark's, Office and Schuh last week.

I have several pairs of Birkenstocks and they have served me well but I am sick of them and of the whole chunky cork-soled look.

I like the look of these from Moshulu but I want to be able to try them on, and I could do with a bit more support under my feet.

Can anybody suggest some sandals with the same amount of support and comfort as Birkenstocks, but a similar look to the sandals in the link?

The Alcudia sandals from Pikolonos are really comfortable, supportive, and smart. Can't do links but have a look!

I like simple sandals that look very flat, then use sticky silicone heel pads for comfort. Primark have the best ones for about £2.50

Also, MNers hate them, but crocs sandals are really bouncy, light and comfortable (and paddle-proof, obviously)

If you feel that you need 'supportive' soles to avoid back pain, there is another way

Have you tried Fitflops? Loads of lovely sparkly sandals and fantastic back support. They have loads of different styles not just toe- thong flip flops. I should really get commission from them because I love them so much and recommend them all the time. They have a 50% sale at the moment too :)

I see a physio who has banned me from flip-flops and any related footwear and thus really cramped what little style I ever had... I did try on some of the Pikolonos sandals but they were loose across my toes.

Don't like Crocs (I did say I was fussy...)

Silicone heel pads are something to bear in mind.

I've given up trying on sandals and have ordered some Earth Spirit ones (as rec. by a PP) off EBay. I will report back.

Thanks for all the advice!

My two pairs of earth spirit ones arrived on Saturday, so far they are very comfy. It is early days but the signs are good.

Hope your fit you well OP.
