What time is the wedding? Afternoons in August are beyond hot and it's really eay to burn. Everyone I know hides indoors with the air conditioning on Something really light, but that keeps the minimum of skin showing I suppose, and definitely a hat!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 22/03/2007 10:59

4pm, although doubt it will be much cooler..i quite like the idea of her being sort of high tea and old fashioned cos she will have a hat on..you know all pretty and whites/pinks..a little lady..but obv want her cool as poss and comfy.
wedding is under a marque and on beach so should have a slight breeze?

Something like this? with the cloche hat on the left , and just makes sure she spends a lot of time in the shade?

Weirdly my BIL is getting married in August too, but all the relatives are travelling from Cyprus to the UK for it!

Going to look at some more, as I need to find something for DD to wear too (similar age)

StrawberrySnowflakes · 22/03/2007 13:39

that didnt link, but i looked and found it..yes i saw that once a while ago and thought it very pretty, and the hat is lovely too, maybe a wider more mummies dress up type hat might be better, but that was gorgeous..thanks for helping.
its nissi bay we are staying at and am told it is v.hot then!

Nissi bay is lovely, but yes think very hot. On a bad day a breeze will feel like that gust of air you get when you open the oven door

I had a look at some other ones (M&S had some nice ones ) but they tend to be synthetic, which could get really sweaty and uncomfortable.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 22/03/2007 13:55

How are the wedding plans going? The weather is pants here today but I'm sure it'll be a very different story byt the time you lot come out

PinkChick · 24/03/2007 19:24

ah bless, he wont get much sleep, the kids will be jumping all over him!

yeah friends wedding is going well i think, dont see too much of her now i dont cm her dd, but shes just written me a lovely reference for new parents and we're all going out for my birthday albeit a week late over easter

i have nissi bay on my screen saver now, we actually changed booking to a week instead of fortnight, we were worried about heat as everyone has said its 40 degrees and dp doesnt 'do' that much heat!, but dont mind cos at least we'll share their day and dd will still have same lengh of time with their girls as we arrive after them anyway!

need to get back on diet tho cos that is waining and just sold our old wrought iron bed in paper tonight and dp's first words were'OOOhhh, takeaway tonight then?'

PinkChick · 24/03/2007 19:25
